If Ghost can bounce back to something close to 2018, a Friedman-Braun bottom pair could potentially work. He's capable of playing both sides and stylistically there could be a match there.

Friedman - Braun

But Friedman would have to blow the doors off to play ahead of Bobby Hitz unfortunately.

Sanheim - Ghost would be roadkill against any team that can forecheck.
Ghost - Friedman might have similar issues. I'll wait until I see enough of Friedman.

Sanheim - Braun worked well last season, Sanheim needs a responsible babysitter.
Ghost - Braun should have worked well for the same reason, but didn't, maybe Ghost just couldn't play last year.

Nothing they put out there, without a major move, is going to look that pretty, but as long as its functional . . .

He didn't lose his form.

He got buried and scratched. Then he was our best D in the small playoff sample he played and got scratched again. His individual quality of play is not, and never has been, the problem.

I'm not going to totally freak until I see what he does before the season starts, which really at this point - who the hell knows when that might even be. They aren't going to play in empty arenas again is my guess.

Niskanen departing really allows Myers to potentially take that next step in his career. The fear is any time you have to give more minutes to Hagg or Braun, and ideally a team that's trying to win by committee isn't giving more ice time to shitty players. Having both on the squad isn't anywhere close to ideal, especially with a coach who seems to be unable to see past their limitations.

Braun had a higher xGFrel in the playoffs than Sanheim, Myers or Hagg.

Braun was mostly responsible for that pairs shortcomings. He was completely lost in coverage whenever they were together and it didn't make a lick of sense.

i see this signing as the bottom pair. Both signed same length because they think hagg-braun actually works and they want to keep braun to "help" hagg as he "worked" better than ghost. At least ghost takes niskanens top 4 spot but its still a huge loss today
