Such an opportunity for Buffalo to land a big fish with EP here. He doesn’t have any trade restrictions either
This reads like JR has a deal lined up, but it is le poop and this is a last ditch effort to get something better
I thought a bout this a while back but what about Barzal and Pettersson swap? Barzal is a BC boy.
Each team gets to keep centre depth.
How exactly would that quote get a team to offer moreThis reads like JR has a deal lined up, but it is le poop and this is a last ditch effort to get something better
If that rumored Rangers deal (Chytil, pick, prospect/prospects) really was the best thing out there, I don't blame him for trying any and every tactic in the book. The Nucks get worse after that, no question.
Lou has a particular player type and EP ain't it. That's what makes this such a f***ed place for Allvin and JR to negotiate from- on one hand they have a soft, moody offensive minded center who makes $11M+ but isn't scoring anywhere enough to justify that, and then a gritty, moody, two-way center who teammates hate. They were never going to win a trade here and everyone knows it.

don’t need to add up the totals to know Kucherov has definitely outpaced that as well. people just be saying anything on hereIt isn't. taking away this year, the last 4 seasons McDavids lowest point total was 105 then 123, 153, 132. Someone just doesn't know how to math
Barzal doesn't seem like the prototypical Lou guy to me but I know what you're saying.
Boeser on the market now
Demko apparently doesn't want to be there
JT Miller and EP both out there as available.
That f***ing imploded fast.
FWIW Lou just added Tony Deangelo. He’s in full desperation mode right now. There’s no way Barzal goes back, but I could see the main piece being Dobson for sure.Lou has a particular player type and EP ain't it. This is the most ridiculous way to handle something like this I’ve ever seen. This is the bad side of JRs style.
feels bad for everyoneTo Chicago:
-Elias Pettersson
To Vancouver:
-Jason Dickinson
-Ryan Donato
-the rights to Sacha Boisvert
-2025 Toronto 1st round pick
-2025 Chicago 2nd round pick
-2026 Chicago 2nd round pick
-2027 Chicago 2nd round pick
If you were a Canucks fan you'd know that Pettersson isn't a young stud.If I'm a Canucks fan I would rather get an underwhelming return for Miller than trade a young stud like Pettersson.
Chicago would be all over that lol. It’s epitome of 5 nickels = a quarter.feels bad for everyone
Can’t wait for them to trade Pettersson and he goes back to PPG two way playIf you were a Canucks fan you'd know that Pettersson isn't a young stud.
He's the most overrated, overpaid player in the league. It would be good to off-load that contract, if Allvin can find any takers.
hes a smart player that is very good defensively and when hes on can take over a game. If we lost him there would be a gaping holeIf you were a Canucks fan you'd know that Pettersson isn't a young stud.

There's essentially no way for the Canucks to subtract Miller, spend that $8.5m and become a team even as good as they are now.Miller is so dominant when engaged. I really think he's going to push a cup contender over the top if traded by the deadline.
Just watching him last night, Goal, Fight, powerplay, PK, battling in front of the net.
The Canucks are going to have a major issue in trying to replace the sandpaper game that Miller brings along with his skills. I feel that the Canucks are pretty soft and perimeter based team already.
Miller is gonna absolutely rip it up in the 4 nations Tourny.
He has a pretty strong track record so while you may not like it, his tactics do tend to work. And he does tend to get the best out of his teams. This is the most ridiculous way to handle something like this I’ve ever seen. This is the bad side of JRs style.
Where did you hear that?it's been reported that pettersson and his reps (barry and brisson) have a handshake agreement with management to not trade pettersson without his approval. assuming they honor it (and i can't imagine they'd blow up their relationship with brisson as he also reps quinn hughes) he's not going to buffalo
I don't believe that. If they wait till summer the return is probably greatest. The longer this drags out, the less the return is. That NMC really complicates it though and ensures the Canucks will get a sub par return.
We were here for his 103 point and 91 point seasons. Maybe you weren't. Wanting to keep Petey isn't saying he hasn't been playing poorly it's betting on his talent over Miller who is just as moody and disinterested. Oh and almost 32 yrs old.If you were a Canucks fan you'd know that Pettersson isn't a young stud.
