What is insane about this is that they knew it all along and traded Horvat instead of Miller. Maybe this is why Horvat thought he had them over a barrel.

At this point , get it over with a lose a Miller trade.Id rather lose a Miller trade than to lose a Petterson trade.

Petey is a hyper modern player-type into fashion, solitary scooter rides, and social media clout-chasing. He's a skinny, quiet guy who simply can't hang with the typical North American locker room antics and dick-swinging.

JT is an all-American asshole with a bit of an anger problem. We don't really have jock Chads like him in Canada, so it does come off pretty abrasive. But he's not too dissimilar to a lot of NFL or NBA players.

Neither one is right or wrong. But it's become clear that JT saw things he didn't like early on, and Petey has not improved those things. Most likely related to his dedication in the gym, and being a more involved leader for the team.

Exactly.

I’m almost positive most of Millers frustration is about Pettersson making 11.6m and playing like a 3C.

Pettersson is as soft as they get, and when you’re playing with zero confidence, being a whimp isn’t going to bring it back…

Time to move on. Trade him already before the league catches on.

Seemed fine last night. Winning is paramount and we are a better team with both and the days of safe spaces and bizzaro world is coming to an end so they can stow their shit, stop being babies for 60 minutes a night.
Last night was a clear example it's possible and if a deal for one that benefits the team comes along so be it.
I agree. But the president just said that isn't going to happen. And he just admitted to 31 other GMs that he's desperate.

Rutherfraud never learned anything from the Boudreau situation. Nothing good ever comes from giving too much to the Vancouver media

What personality traits in both these players make them unable to get along? Are they both difficult personalities?

Miller is intense. The kind of guy that yells his way through a game not going well. High octane.

Peterson even have instagram? What a baseless, back country, moronic take.

Probably slim. I can’t imagine Carolina would want to now add Miller’s contract when they’re likely to try to sign Rantanen long term. Sounds like most of their interest was directed towards Pettersson and not Miller.
Would have to agree.

However, Miller for Kotkaniemi + Roslovic + ???, is essentially a wash, cap-wise for the Canes this season and only adds $3.2M for the next few seasons, while Miller is almost certain to out-produce Kotkaniemi for those seasons. $3.2M on the Canes’s books shouldn’t have too big an effect on what they can offer Rantanen.

The Canes will have roughly $35-$40M in cap space to play with this summer (expected cap range from $92-97M) with most of their core locked up and with just a few holes to fill and some of them sure to be filled with ELC players. The extra $3.2M of Miller’s deal might become problematic once the next round of ELC players are due (Nikishin/Morrow/Blake) for new deals, but probably not if the cap rises like it’s predicted to. They can offer Rantanen a competitive 8yr deal, absorb Millet AND still have space to comfortably fill out the roster.

Question would be, are the Canucks that enamored with Kotkaniemi to accept him + Roslovic and what would the other + be?

I’d love for the Canes to re-visit Pettersson, but I don’t think they have the ammunition to get him anymore without Necas.

He deleted social media when a "locker room controversy" first cropped up. Prior to that he was hamming it up with all sorts of 'local celebrities'. His Instagram was highly curated. The guy literally hangs out with Michael Buble.

I've personally seen him solo-riding his scooter downtown.

He is extremely interested in men's fashion. But again, after the drama first came up, he switched to a more norm-core casual style. Still hypey, but a bit more subdued. I would imagine he was absolutely berated to no end by JT for his clothing prior to this.

What are you smokin ? He's fourth on the team in blocked shots. First in forward blocked shots and almost doubling Miller. Third on the team in take-aways and arguably the teams best defensive forward. He's had a down season, but when he's on doesn't hesitate from physical play whatsoever.

Aatu Raty has been called up.

I didnt see anyone get injured last night.

Is there a trade imminent? Makes sense to as to why the Rutherford interview came out today.

Wondering why Rutherford feels the need to say this publicly? Don't get me wrong, love the insight as a fan, but don't see how this benefits the situation his team is in.

Yeah in addition to airing his teams dirty laundry in public, gotta think it's also ruining any leverage he had in trade by making it widely known he absolutely has to trade one of them.

Just looked into it and he deleted his account well before any of this drama came about, and nothing says "clout chasing" like a young person simply having, then deleting his instgram...?

It's weirder for a kid his age to not have instgram and resorting to calling him "clout chasing" for using it is wildly boomer-speak. And got it. Haning with huge hockey fan and celebrity Michael Buble is somehow a knock? You from Abbottsford ? Genuinely wondering because nothing EP40 does is much different than most people his age.

I was about to post "so much for the Canucks being able to wait until the off-season". No chance that happens now.

I was already assuming they'd get a bad return for Miller, but these comments absolutely cement it. He's going to be traded for pennies on the dollar because basically every force is acting against him having value.

I'm really sick of news coming out of Vancouver. and I am a fan. The media here is ravenous, when JR comes out like this is Carolina's market where its page 8 news, the narrative spreads in all directions like a malignant tumor. Dumb dumb move.

I still think the Avs make the most sense as long as Miller would waive there. Have it be Miller for Mittelstadt with some minor futures added by the Avs and I think that deal gets done. Miller's value is in the gutter but I still think they could get futures with Mittelstadt, probably just not a 1st.

Mittelstadt, Olausson (reclamation project prospect) and a 2nd for Miller seems like a fairly reasonable guess.

I'd do KK + Ros + Morrow + 1st for Miller as a Canucks fan. Big upgrade for Canes and downgrade for Canucks, but we get a stop gap while we figure out 2c.

EP has exceptional 2 way play and probably one of the better 1st line players when t comes to defense. Players with his skill always figure out the offensive part.

Sounds about right, probably more palatable to the Canes than including Morrow

The Canes wouldn’t touch this.

I feel like VAN is way too public about their drama...

This is their 6th year playing together and its just coming out this year how bad it is....

I dont think they've been that public at all.

Heck nobody even knows why Miller took a personal leave for a month. My suspicion is a locker room physical incident occured but nothing has been leaked.

Wow. Insane take on Miller's worth.

Of course you would because it's a comical overpayment by the Canes.
