Rumor: Just Kidding! Pettersson and JT Miller Trade Reunion!

I think the Rantenen deal is a real good reminder to these posters who take the so called "insiders" word as gospel. At the end of the day they really don't know shit, and throw things at the wall to get clicks. 50 goal/100point superstar gets traded from a contender and yet not even a whisper in advance from them. If they were as connected as they make it out to be, this would not have been the case. Much like the Horvat deal, much like the Hronek deal.

I don't doubt that the Canucks are exploring options on EP and JTM, but I highly doubt that have much more knowledge about the situation than that.
To be fair to the insiders, the Chicago GM, who was INVOLVED in the trade didn’t even know Rantanen was involved in the trade. The AVS and Canes quite literally told no one about this.

7:14 pagnotta tweets about hall to the hurricanes
7:15 "ice talk" tweets about hall going to the hurricanes and to expect them to go all in for jt miller
7:17 friedman tweets that rantanen is going to carolina
7:19 "ice talk" tweets "Wow Mikko Rantanen is going to Carolina. WHAT IS GOING ON!? "

so please, explain to me what info he has? I'll wait... like schools really need to be teaching media literacy all these fake ass rumor accounts wouldn't get any of the attention they desperately seek

Reminds me of that Guy Eklund from hockeybuzz still claiming to this day he broke the Seth jones Ryan Johansen despite no evidence.

It’s just him saying a major trade is about is about to happen for 365 days of the year

What personality traits in both these players make them unable to get along? Are they both difficult personalities?
I'm beginning to wonder if there was an off-ice incident between the two, that they just can't get over. I just can't believe that the quotes from Rutherford telling they can't get over it despite trying and other people acting as mediators just stems from on-ice playing style or other work habits.

Petey is a hyper modern player-type into fashion, solitary scooter rides, and social media clout-chasing. He's a skinny, quiet guy who simply can't hang with the typical North American locker room antics and dick-swinging.

JT is an all-American asshole with a bit of an anger problem. We don't really have jock Chads like him in Canada, so it does come off pretty abrasive. But he's not too dissimilar to a lot of NFL or NBA players.

Neither one is right or wrong. But it's become clear that JT saw things he didn't like early on, and Petey has not improved those things. Most likely related to his dedication in the gym, and being a more involved leader for the team.

Even if the guys aren't immediately traded, if this has been a problem for a long time, and the club has been protecting them in every feasible capacity, and it still hasn't been resolved, then I guess it's time for J.T. Miller and Elias Pettersson to face the media music.

I feel like this is a bit too speculative, gotta keep it simple: maybe Miller is pro-Trump, maybe Pettersson is gay.

Miller is so dominant when engaged. I really think he's going to push a cup contender over the top if traded by the deadline.

Just watching him last night, Goal, Fight, powerplay, PK, battling in front of the net.

The Canucks are going to have a major issue in trying to replace the sandpaper game that Miller brings along with his skills. I feel that the Canucks are pretty soft and perimeter based team already.

Miller is gonna absolutely rip it up in the 4 nations Tourny.

That’s the point. He didn’t know. He just knew he was retaining 3M dollars, but didn’t know on what player until the very last moments when he needed to know.

Pretty crazy stuff

I can't believe he actually went along with that

"Hey MacFarland, Tulsky, so which playe-"

"Shut the f*** up, Kyle, you don't need to know."

I'm not sure why people dismissed this when it first came out.

Miller had a history of being an asshat when the Vancouver media were very clear on the fact that his attitude is likely what pushed Bo Horvat out the door. Though one would argue that might have been a blessing given Horvat was coming off a career high shooting percentage and wasn't going to be worth the money he got. And there were murmurs of this type of behavior in New York and even Tampa

I think if you're the Canucks, you just accept that Miller goes for whatever and be done with it. It absolutely sucks but i think they would regret trading EP40 big time.

There was a new interview with Rutherford in print. It is paywalled. In it he says that Miller and Petterson have worked on getting along. And the problems go away. But they always come back and fester again. So it's time for a new plan.

Halford and Burrough read out the important parts here. Starts around 27 min's in:

Bombshell News From JR On The Future Of The Canucks Core

Hopefully he at least insisted on knowing how much and for how long.

But... probably not.

Whats the chances that Miller still goes to Carolina? Chris Johnson with TSN mentioned VAN is still interested in KK.
Probably slim. I can’t imagine Carolina would want to now add Miller’s contract when they’re likely to try to sign Rantanen long term. Sounds like most of their interest was directed towards Pettersson and not Miller.

This is hilarious, yet probably close to the truth. EP is a naturally gifted player that doesn't appear to love the game and want to put the work in that is necessary to be a winner. JT has talent but is more of a scrapper who has had to work harder to succeed. Those types don't typically mesh well as we saw with the Wheeler/Laine beef.

I'm not following this saga closely.

Who is the problem?

I get that there's a rift between EP and Miller, but surely one of them is the actual root of the issue, right?
