Rumor: JTM Trade Thread: Why did JT Miller bring a suitcase to practice?

Well he's not going for a mere .4 ppg soft as putty centre with mediocre defensive numbers and crap on the dot with a middling pick.

He's also most certainly bringing back two blue chips plus a top pick.

You know as well as the rest of us what the end result will be, but unless management in Vancouver or wherever Miller goes is absolutely gd inept he's gonna go for a solid return but not what people want or expect at all and no matter what happens,

People will be upset and walking back a lot of absolutes that they've made the last month or so
Do you think more or less than the rumor of Chytil, Lindgren, Sykora and a 1st?

I don't think anything because I know what stupidity GMs get involved with.

All I know is that the people who are over valuing what Miller will return are being quickly shouted down by the people who assume he's going just to do some other GM a favour with an insanely weak return, and that both are going to be disappointed when it happens

I would think there's a lot more interest in Pettersen than in Miller.

If we're talking about the right Elias Petteresen, that is. The Canucks could trade one and keep one.

ALERT!!

I was just informed that the reasons for the "scrums" after the whistle in the last several games has been misconstrued!

The real truth is that Canucks mgmt have allowed individual Canuck players to negotiate for Miller's services with th other yeam

Canucks front office likely torn between trade Miller and bring in players to help right now to right the ship because they see their team as a contender, or trade Miller for futures and possibly concede the season

At some point the market is what people are willing to pay for it. You can sit and pout and yell to the high heavens that what you are selling is worth more - okay then, sell it for that? JT Miller is a depreciating asset in more ways than one right now.

Offers are awful, Miller only wants to go to Two teams.
Why not dump him to one of those teams for the best of the bad offers out there? Is it an oversimplification to say once he's gone the team will come back to life? That's been my assumption as an outsider looking in anyway...

Can someone ELI5 the whole JT miller situation?
According to the mix of rumors in Vancouver... and I think I've explained it as if you are 5 or esl..

Love that Paul Bissonette has somehow managed to insert himself into the drama.

Does he have any connection to the Canucks? Or the Vancouver area?

People need to look at returns in trades like karlsson, hertl, kuznetsov, pld, brent burns…none are perfect comparables as a player or situation, sure, but the common denominator is teams don’t get returns reflective of what that player has been in deals when they’re forced, or motivated, sellers on older/malcontents with term and significant cap hits.

Im a big jt miller fan. Id love to see the rangers add him…but only at the right price. What i’d personally have on the table would probably cause many canuck fans to explode. It’s not personal, it has nothing to do with not being aware of the player jt miller has been and could potentially be, or believing that a prospective offer would be equivalent to him in market value. It would simply be keeping in line with the market precedent, which is unmistakably clear. High cap hit players with term and over 30/malcontents/both return underwhelming value relative to what that player might be today. This isn’t jack eichel or matthew tkachuk hitting the market in their mid 20s.
