This kid did something go we don't know about to piss AV off during or right after that Calgary game

No reason he shouldn't be playing otherwise.

We know he's cocky and has had attitude problems in his past.

Think he did something out of turn he absolutely should be in the lineup

I don't know that it is definite, and certainly the loss of Kreider has had zero negative impact on the team's performance.

I think because of Kreider's great skating and size he has been vastly overrated here. In terms of production, he was below average. His skills may translate in the future, but so far, not so much.

He does so much more than what shows up on the stat page, but with the amount of chances he has gotten this year I am definitely a little upset with the amount of goals. He has a laser of a shot, he just has to work on hitting his spots a little better...and not shoot for the same spot every time. But his vision/passing is still underrated I think.

Miller on the other hand tries to stick handle too much I think. He will learn the right balance of when to make a move and when to just skate the puck in...I think he will be a good one, just a little more time for his game to mature.

I agree something might have happened off the ice or he might not have said the right things which put him in the doghouse, I just hope the up and downs this season don't make him loose the "cockiness" because it's definitely and asset when he's on.

AV obviously doesn't like Miller.

Poor kid, how many times does he have to sit on that bus between Hartford and NY?

Not the best way to treat him for his development.

Players are treated based on their performance and attitude, as they should be. Their development is on their shoulders, not on management's.

At this point AV doesn't have the luxury of giving Miller playing time, its even harder when our fourth line has been one of it not the most consistent lines for a while now and none of those guys are going to be displaced by Miller whose still learning, it sucks but it is what it is, he'll get a good look in camp and more than likely make it.

If Miller is going to play, it needs to be at center. It's as easy as moving Richards back to wing, which he played earlier in the year and was more effective. We already have a glut of wings, though. A lineup with Miller that could be effective would look like:

Richards-Stepan-Nash
Pouliot-Brassard-Zuke
Hagelin-Miller-St. Louis
3 out of Carcillo, Boyle, Dorsett, Moore

Moore looked good on a line with MSL, though, so I'd stay with that. Anything to get MSL comfortable and going for the playoffs.

I didn't like those combos last night one bit

That Moore Richards MsL like did not work. Need to put hags back there and Moore back on the 4th line

I dont think kreider is overrated by anyone. The kid hanst even reached his full potential yet. 37 points (17 goals) in 65 games is pretty good numbers for a rookie going up against most teams top defensive pairs. Also as somebody else emntioned kreider does more that doesnt show up on the scoresheet. His speed opens up space for his linemates like nash, his passing is very underrated IMO. he also is one of the leaders in hits. Like i said Kreider still has a lot of work to do especially on the defensive side. However considering this is really his first full year he did pretty good and will get better

Very true. Important to keep things in perspective and all that. I actually have very high hopes for this player. He's a tremendously motivated and coachable kid with solid character and leadership potential. He wants it badly and I want to see him succeed.
My only concern is that JT has had attitude issues in the past but he may be past that. I do like hsi agme but i dont think he is gonna be a bigtime playmaker but he will be a good player

I love how a consensus was simultaneously established that Miller has attitude problems in a matter of hours.

He's never had attitude issues, and I highly doubt he's in AV's doghouse for that reason. When he was a younger player he was very competitive and like any 17 year old he would let it get the best of him on the ice occasionally (think of a tamer Dubinsky in that regard). Since he has been drafted he's been nothing but a class act on the 4 teams he has been on. He's worn letters as well.

We're in a playoff push, and as much as people are looking ahead, we haven't locked anything up yet. At the same time Carcillo, Dorsett, Boyle and Moore are playing some of the best hockey of their careers. He's looked fine, but it's just a matter of trust at this point. He is 2 years younger than Kreider, and significantly further in his development at the same perspective stages.

It was when he was younger like 15-17. Im just going by what Tortorella and Joe Michelletti said

What Miller is going through is no different than what dozens of other guys go through each year, veterans and prospects alike.

When the season is done, he'll have played 30 NHL games and 40 or so AHL games. That's a good workload and great experience for a kid who just turned 21.

We are basically trading Miller next year or playing him. It's clearly not working out for either side. No way he resigns if this continues.

First off he is a RFA and secondly i doubt anybody is willing to overspend for JT Miller who has like 3-4 goals his whole career

oh, there's the RFA, just took a glance at capgeek.
Yup. But again as much as i like Miller and excited for hsi development i think some people are jumping teh gun on him. he has shown some good flashes but he has a ways to go

You know he just turned 21 two weeks ago, right? And that he was drafted not even three years ago? How is it not working out?

Yeah I recall Torts last year talking about Miller's fiery demeanor, and commenting on how he didn't want to tame it, just get it under control. I think Torts liked that about Miller, because that's the way Torts is. AV is much more even-tempered and cerebral, so he probably doesn't appreciate it much.

Well, I didn't catch the RFA part and thought he's older , my bad, but if we're bringing in a ~2C this off season to replace Richards, he's going to have to hop over someone. He doesn't quite play nearly as well on the wing. It's working out, I was speaking to the fact that he might be getting tired of all the call ups and down and ups and downs.

I have no problem with being fiery in fact i like it. Also he seemed to grow out of it so its nit an issue. He is only 21 and is still developing and there is no room for him in the lineup this season. I dont think AV hates him at all
