I'll miss Filip, was going to get his jersey this past Christmas but decided against it because I could just feel a trade on the horizon with him involved. He's always had potential and he still does but I feel we've seen most of what he has to offer and this team needed someone with massive balls. As exciting as Chytil can be on the rush he is not the type of player to get in others faces and act like a psychopath on the ice.

I expect J.T. to set most of this team straight for the next few months while we dig in for a run. You do NOT want to be a team facing J.T. & the Rangers in round 1. FOUR-NATIONS just got 10x more interesting for us NYR fans too.

I wonder if people would have been OK with Zibanejad being traded this past offseason coming off a 72-point season after putting up a career high the prior season for this exact package. I know I would have. Vancouver getting out of the miller contract at the right time.

"Getting out of a contract" in the NHL has a very different meaning when the salary cap jumps 25M in the next 3 years, and the UFA market is not catching up to that.

If Miller can continue being a legit 1C, I understand the argument that if you can get a 1C for that price, you do it.

But that's what people said about Panarin when he was available and didn't really fit where the team was at the time.

If Miller works out, they're gonna feel forced to do something with him while he's here, and feeling that way about Panarin is what led to giving Zibanejad a terrible contract.

Jones is Brannstrom and we know how that has played out. Brannstrom is probably AHL fodder or if Jones gets traded the 7th D.

Meh… I don’t hate the price, especially because I never saw Mancini as more than a 4-6 and Chytil is a 40 game player regardless of how good he is. I like the things Miller brings to a very “soft” room… I’m not unhappy with the trade but I’m just not really seeing the vision here unless we actually find a way to offload Zibanejad. Miller isn’t gonna be the 1C on a Cup winner, but Miller and Trochek are fantastic middle six centers with character. Problem remains the same as always… no 1C, no cup.

If you think this trade is bad from the Rangers perspective, consider our friends in Vancouver. They are pissed at the return and should be. It’s an awful trade for the Canucks.

I like the trade. It solves our top 6 problems. Fil is a good player, but he was one hit away from being done. It sucks giving up Mancicni, but let's be honest he wasn't getting a chance to play. The team has a bunch of good prospects in the system to absorb the loss of a first-rounder, this year or next.

Maybe JT makes life miserable for Mika and he opens up that trade clause a bit

I could see synergy with Rempe but Rempe is just a spring chicken compared to JT. He is an actual veteran with a fighting and high scoring history. He definitely has leadership qualities in the locker room. None of our other players have that get in your face and demand accountability quality. You can call me crazy but I think he can definitely fill those captain shoes.
