Oh, don't get me wrong, I don't think New Jersey has any reason to trade their second overall. I'm replying to the value of Miller being ragged on, when his stats and play on some awful Canucks teams have been quite good.
i would first like to see the contract number, before i agree that the extension improves his value. The first thing that would need to be added is a contract extension for Miller.
Ohhhh, I get it! You're taking me literally when I talk about including a time machine as part of the trade.
p.s. you know those don't actually exist, right?
Stop acting like a 29 year old who is a UFA in a year is this monster trade chip.
No I was taking your comment that the only way he would be worth the 2nd OA in a pretty meh draft is if he was a 99 point 20 year old, which if you didn't clue in, is absolutely ridiculous. Guess that went over your head....
Let me know if/when your intellectual capacity is able to discern the difference between a joke and a literal statement, and then we can have a rational discussion about JT Miller’s trade value.
You may also find it beneficial to learn how to read properly, if you insist on inserting words into statements that were never written.
It is the point. That random hypothetical means nothing to do the discussion.
The oldest players on the Devils are Tatar (31) and Bernier (33), both of whom only have 1 year left on their contracts.
Does anyone here actually think it would be a good idea for the Devils to trade what would be their youngest asset for what will be their oldest asset in 1 year?
Stone is not and was not better than Miller is now don’t be silly. Miller just put up 99 points and finished 17th in scoring in 2020 as well…can’t wait until you see what he gets on the market. Oh not to mention Miller is a center who can also play wing. Much more valuable to teams than Stone who had a NTC and only played the wing. What did an extended Stone get?
Stone was/is better than Miller. I really could care less about one big season when guys like Kadri and Huberdeau were also putting up 100 points.
Vancouver really thinks one great year of Miller is going to get them a Superstar haul, it's funny. We'll come back to this thread when they get way less than all of you thought.
It’s not even anything against Miller, the timelines just don’t match. Same thing with the Canucks. From a Canucks fan, no I don't.
You may have used hyperbole to make a point, but that doesn't take away from your assertion bud. Keep back-peddling though.
Hey, I will give you credit for one thing: when you keep moving the goal posts and keep putting words into people's mouths, you'll be sure to never lose an argument!
Who are you talking about here, me or you?
You used hyperbole to make an assertion, the hyperbole (the time machine) is obviously not what I'm attacking here, the assertion on the other hand (that it would take a 20 year old 99 point Miller to get the 2nd OA) is ridiculous.
I never moved any goal posts, or put any words in your mouth, I merely attacked your assertion.
When you can point to the part of my post -- I'll help you out, it's on the first page of this thread, post #15 -- where I explicity wrote that "only a player who is 20 years old and scored 99 points is worth a second overall", I'll concede you're correct.
p.s. You won't find that because I never said it, but you're welcome to look!
#puttingwordsintopeoplesmouths
Well I never said that you asserted that "only a player who is 20 years old and scored 99 points is worth a 2nd OA" that wasn't your assertion, yours (as I have stated several times) was that if the Devils moved the 2nd OA for Miller it would take a 20 year old Miller to get it done, which again is ridiculous.
Thank you for confirming what I've been saying: that you're putting words in my mouth -- YOU trying to tell ME what my own assertion was.
Here is the only correct response you can write to me, if you want to copy & paste it back as a reply:
"Hey 'bud', sorry that I misinterpreted your post and took it so literally, rather than the hyperbolic, figurative way in which you intended."
Lmaooo he really isn’t. 99 point player this year and top 17 in NHL scoring year before power forward in his prime who plays center/wing and all situations. Dream onVancouver adds a lot. Man is Miller ever overrated.
I’m going to go out on a limb here & assume you’re a Devils fan?A lot of moving parts but hear me out.
