Why are people mentioning Stepan being traded? That's insanity.. Brian Boyle on our 2nd line? Jesus.

I didn't think Boyle would stick as the third line center. Not surprised with Miller getting called up. If he plays well he stays, if he struggles just send him down after a couple of games so you dont burn a year on his contract. If we do send him back down Sather probably needs to trade for a third line center at the deadline.

What are you trying to say? Boyle has been great this year.

Not if Halpern keeps up what he did vs Tampa.

What makes you think that Miller is going to center the third line?

Cup of coffee for Miller, do not see him playing, but he will benefit from seeing how the big club prepares for a big divisional game.

I have no problems with a spot call up here and there.

Russing him, IMHO, is calling him up, putting him on the 2nd line and leaving him there.

I'd venture a guess he's on an auditing trip

You leave Russ out of this ! That Auditing trip is crucial ! :p:

Seriously, this(plus the good teammate Rupp trade) seems to me to tell the bottom pairings that if you're not gonna play well this kid is right behind you banging at the door. To me, this is just as much a wake up to the team as it is about having Miller play meaningful minutes.

Kids here to take a look at his future, and vice versa.

My bold prediction for this season was Miller gets called up and Torts falls in love with him. Lets see how it goes. We have according to RB 6 games to play with.

A little surprised about Ferreiro.

A little surprised about Ferriero. Happy to get a look at Mashinter, who has apparently been playing well.

Good experience for Miller.

Haley has to be the next to go, right?

I think people are looking at it incorrectly.

Rupp was traded for Powe.

Powe was brought in to replace Ferreiro.

Masinter was brought up to replace Rupp.

I hope not. If Asham gets hurt, which is possible, Haley would be a solid replacement on the 4th line. Maybe Palmieri proves he can put it together and passes him on the depth chart. Not sure.

So we're looking at...

Gaborik-Richards-Nash
Pyatt-Stepan-Hagelin
Halpern-Boyle-Miller
Asham-Powe-Mashinter

Unless I'm forgetting someone.

Meh, not surprisingly, Ferreiro's game went downhill after a nice debut. He also made one of the worst line changes you'll see at the NHL level - so, thats that.

Wow, surprising. I thought Ferriero had played very well and added needed speed to the team. Best of luck to JT Miller obviously. At the worst he will get to experience a higher level of play than he's experienced, which is always a good thing to help someone improve. It will be interesting to see how he does.

Seems right to me, I think Halpern and Powe would switch places though, just my guess.

Think Miller is only up for a game or two until Kreider or Cally is back in the lineup.

Good experience for him anyway.

Masher I think may stay longer, hes a decent skater, and has shown plenty of offense for the whale. At this point he is probably a better fighter than Rupp was. He might be in and out of the lineup, but wouldnt surprise me for him to find a permanent home on the bottom 6.

Ferriero was playing well, I thought. Not sure why he's being sent down.

I agree, bit of a head scratcher. He has played well for us.

I am very excited about Miller, but I don't think he is ready yet.

Mashinter I have heard very good things, but I haven't seen him play yet.

yea lets skake the team up right after a good win.... ferriero has one pretty bad game and gets sent down, maybe thats why guys played afraid to make mistakes knowing the leash is so damn short. Id like to see miller for a few games although i personally dont think hes ready yet.
