Dude's been looking like Ylonen out there. Hopefully he seizes the opportunity and actually performs like a 2nd liner.
Guy has been invisible at camp, totally uninterested and now they may have to put him on the second line, wow, this is so freaking bad.I go back and forth on Roy. I think he may need more AHL time to take a step forward, but we might not have that choice now.
I don't want to be the guy to say to you all"I told you so"... But... I told you soGuy has been invisible at camp, totally uninterested and now they may have to put him on the second line, wow, this is so freaking bad.

He was fine last year, I think your all quick to judge him hereI'm with you, I was never impressed.
He's on the wrong line.He isn't ready pure and simple.
Not sure he needs to do anything with the coaching and the GM we have. He seems to have a guaranteed spot no matter what.He hasn't done anything to be a lock to make this team, especially on the 3rd line.
No kiddingNot sure he needs to do anything with the coaching and the GM we have. He seems to have a guaranteed spot no matter what.
Don't think so.He was fine last year, I think your all quick to judge him here
If by "great complimentary" you mean doesn't do shit, I agree. He's a great complimentary player. He'd excellent when played with skilled players who lead the charge, like Bedard at WJC.
Doesn't matter with whom he plays, if he doesn't give any extra-effort, he'll be invisible.I'm underwhelmed by his camp. But he's also been playing with Anderson (who he helped score) and Hide the pain Dvorak.
Him, Dach and Newkhook would make a great line. I hope he gets a good look.
I'd rather him in the AHL than on the 3rd line with scrubs. If you're not going to play him with talent, you're stunting him.I go back and forth on Roy. I think he may need more AHL time to take a step forward, but we might not have that choice now.
Amen.I'm underwhelmed by his camp. But he's also been playing with Anderson (who he helped score) and Hide the pain Dvorak.

He needs better linemates. He needs to be stronger on the puck. He's been making solid plays without the puck, I think MSL praised for him not long ago.
But he needs to play with that extra hunger...I don't think he feels threatened enough. He needs competition.
I don't disagree.He needs better linemates.
He's a raw rookie and they need to give him some help. At this point he's a complimentary player. He can absolutely fill in on the top six but you've got to give him talented players to help him along. Putting him with Dvorak or whoever is a waste of everyone's time.
If he plays on the right bottom 6 line, that might convince him to increase his involvement physically. Without the skill set to create his own openings, without that extra-oumf, he's just going to end up another Ylonen otherwise.I'd rather him in the AHL than on the 3rd line with scrubs. If you're not going to play him with talent, you're stunting him.
I just think we've seen this movie enough times to know that younger skilled players develop better when played with older skilled players. If he plays on the right bottom 6 line, that might convince him to increase his involvement physically. Without the skill set to create his own openings, without that extra-oumf, he's just going to end up another Ylonen otherwise.
By the sounds of it Kapanen is going to be top 6. Gorton emphasized how impressed they were with him.Laine injury going to give Roy some good opportunity. Roy moves up in top 6. Kapanen probably makes roster in bottom 6.
That's quite a jumpBy the sounds of it Kapanen is going to be top 6. Gorton emphasized how impressed they were with him.
From what I have seen he plays a solid game but that doesn't automatically make him a top 6 player. That might be wishful thinking.By the sounds of it Kapanen is going to be top 6. Gorton emphasized how impressed they were with him.
I think Heineman might get consideration. That line needs a shooter. He’s got the size and shot and can play a rough game. Maybe he hasn’t shown enough yet but I really think they’ll look at line makeup rather than sticking all the best guys on a line. I like Kapanen and Roy, but they’re all very different players. Don’t hate me, but I think Armia could fit in there as well. I know he gets some hate, but I could see it based on his second half play last year.By the sounds of it Kapanen is going to be top 6. Gorton emphasized how impressed they were with him.
