Ho Sang is 18 years old. I'm sure everyone here has done stupid stuff being a teenager....

And for the record I don't think tpwhat Ho Sang said was wrong, as long as he shows up on the scoresheet this year.

THAT is what I'm talking about.

Welcome to the States kid, we'd love to have ya.

Damn, that means you beat me to it.

IMO, we need more us against them in that locker room. JT is so PC his middle name should be Vanilla Nice, and even MMartin keeps a lid on things. HS brings it by the bucket. Maybe we have another Esa Tikannen if he spreads this kind of love on the ice. Anyone know if he is ***** talker while playing?

:yo:

In a different way, it's what I was looking for Pedan or even Neiderreiter else to bring - a little more will to challenge an opponent and get under their nerves.

Once upon a time, Nino was thought ot be a bit of a Shanahan/C. Lemieux type...not that I want him back at all, but we need a little swagger.

Bourne seems to enjoy trashing Ho-Sang:

I actually feel that was a well thought-out analysis, not particularly scathing at all.

He brought up a lot of valid points regarding Ho-Sang's game and personality and how they could either be positive or negative to fans, teammates and coaches.

I don't know him but I would hope that the skill and smarts translates to a mature NHL scorer a couple of years from now. There's been no questioning his drive and desire to learn more about the sport and his skill level is obviously there...it's how his personality could affect team dynamics. That is the wildcard.

We love to project out players based on skill and smarts. That's usually easier to measure than whether a player is a good teammate or a positive influence in the room.

Rooting for him always being outgoing and quotable while tempering it with experience as he ages.

Put this kid along with his over confidence on the same line with Bailey who simply lacks confidence. Maybe they'll rub off on each other and we get the best from both of 'em.

They should be roommates as well on the road. Can only imagine how those conversations will go. Bailey- "I just can't hit the net". Ho-Sang- "I can hit the five hole with my eyes closed every time"

Aha... Sounds like sketch comedy, Watching two opposite extreme personalities like that interact. It could be effective, though Bailey's orientation to the game must be rooted deep within himself,IMO. I mean on an NHL team, he's gotta be around enough confident guys that it would rub off on him. I do hope he finds his flow eventually.

I feel that Ho-Sang has what it takes to be a consistent 25-30 goal scorer and while he is most definitely elite at the level of play he's seen thus far, this league will require him to develop his game a lot to produce like he is now in the OHL.

I could see him being a threat on breakaways and turning into a shootout specialist. I'm curious to see how effective his bag of tricks would be on a Varlamov, Rask or Price.

Here's the Canadian media finally sticking up for this kid:

"Speak up for yourself, as Ho-Sang did, and the sizable Cro-Magnon segment of the hockey media (the ones who haven’t liked anything since Clarence Campbell was king) will try to crush you. Show a little flash and dash, as Subban did during his rookie season, and cretins from Mike Richards to Don Cherry are lining up to slap you down.

With Ho-Sang, it’s been a little uglier than a slap-down. Reports had Ho-Sang on the Do Not Draft list of many teams heading into this year’s NHL draft before the New York Islanders selected the forward 28th overall. Now if he had a string of arrests on his record, or positive tests for drugs (performance-enhancing or otherwise) you could understand that.

But the only rap against Ho-Sang is, apparently, that he’s a square peg in the round-peg world of the NHL, the most conformist league in the universe."

Let's hope he has "his day in the sun". Credit Snow for moving up and getting him.

One is still Islanders property the other is not. I wonder who will be celebrated around here and who will be bashed.

Ho Sang came out with a poor statement after the entire hockey world publicly says he has an attitude problem. I like the pick by Snow in that spot but Ho Sang needs to shut up and take some classes on how to respond with politically correct answers. The time for personality in todays game is limited and comes after NHL success not before it.

So you are a yes-man? Hard to believe....

Very good skater with great hands, I think he will be a top 6 forward (needs to be, to be utilized correctly). I think Grabovski and Kulemin are place holders for Dal Colle and Ho-Sang, who will probably be NHL ready in 2-3 years. I can see Dal-Colle-Tavares-Okposo and Strome-Nelson-Ho-Sang or a mixture of those guys on the 1st two lines.

I still don't think Ho Sang cracks this roster next season. He's at least 2 years away. Would you agree?
