You're always responsible for your stick. Manson was careless, and deserved what he got. Pretty funny how he mocks Boeser for supposedly embellishing, only to get tossed out after video review proves it was a dirty act. Should've been called for the blatant trip seconds earlier, as well.

It wasn’t dirty. Boeser tapped Manson in the chest. Manson hit back right at his own chest height and Boeser happened to be hunched. Penalty, yes. Dirty, no.

This doesn't look too bad in all honesty. Stick rides up (along with Lundell's glove), which might clip Poitras on the chin but it's not a straight shot to his nose or anything. Looks like most of it got his shoulder.

That said, given the call on Manson I have no idea what to expect on this one.

Let's get real man. I'm a Vancouverite. It was a soft call. That wouldn't have been a major in my ball hockey league.

If anything Boeser is hunched over and leans into Manson's stick. Still a penalty, but a major is crazy.

Refs likely saw it as intent to injure, due to a reckless stick. It wasn't a stickcheck gone awry, or a glancing blow from a follow through, just a reckless stick to the face. It wasn't particularily vicious, but-as we just saw with the Hoglander slewfoot- it doesn't have to be.

Again, first time I’ve ever seen a guy bleed from a high stick and the opposing fans say he embellished. Truly unprecendented bias. Guess it makes sense when you’ve been listening to that moron PBP guy for decades.

Ok, so now I have the Canucks diving at a rate similar to other teams and I still have no idea why Boeser diving would be “typical”.
