Josh Manson Ejected for Cross Check to Face of Brock Boeser

Not sure how I feel, don't think it was worth a misconduct but I think refs are a bit hamstrung by the 2 or 5+game rule when reviewing. He was bleeding, so 4 minutes would've been fair but they can't do that under the current rules.

Boeser hasn't embellished in his time here so I genuinely don't think he flopped, but I could be wrong. What say you?

The crossscheck to Poitras face tonight was much much worse and was a 2min penalty in the Panthers Bruins game.

I think OP hit the nail on the head though. The rules being what they are put them in a pretty bad spot because they couldn't call 4 minutes.


This is kind of a play that demonstrates the rules need to be adjusted.

Yeah while he technically crosschecked him in the face, he clearly didn't mean to and more so was reflexively jousting back and forth. Dudes head/eyes wasn't even facing the same direction as Boeser.

2min minor at most would've been good for being irresponsible with stick control. Anything more is overkill

that absolutely should not be an ejection. call it as high sticking minor or double minor. it's not vicious and he's clearly focused on the puck trying to push his man away from the crease. reckless, but unintentional and not at all malicious. joke of a call

Looked like Manson just put his stick in position to defend himself against Boeser's cross checks and then Boeser rammed his face into the stick. Manson's stick wasn't even elevated past like, chest level.
