Doesn't mean they are automatically bad either. I don't consider it a value contract but I don't consider it a bad one either. It's fair for his prime.
You, a Canadiens fan, can think that. If he were on Tampa he would be shipped out of the town on the first bus. Truth hurts.

Every team has a different cap structure. Tampa has to pay their top end talent and therefore, you have to have value contracts at the bottom half. Anderson is not a value contract.

Why are all middle 6F around $4M-$6M range considered bad contracts? Do fans really think the NHL is a bunch of players $8M+ and if they are not good enough, they should be paid $3M or less? No room for players to be paid in the middle of that?

Why is Anderson's term left (which are prime years still) considered a bad term? That makes no sense. Why is Anderson's value only about his points and not about his size/skating/shot and things he provides beyond points? Evaluating middle 6F on points only is ignorance and it's just not accurate

Anderson's contract not a value contract. That I agree with but just because it's not a value contract, it don't mean it's a bad one. I see too many fans trying to double down on it being a bad contract. It's almost like Anderson is 35+ the way fans on HF boards are treating him.

comparing a Anderson trade to Chairot;s relies on the idea that every other GM is as dumb as Florida's and that Kent Hughes is a god tier sweet talking GM.
No it is taking the possible desperation of a GM or 2 for a big forward and the fact that HuGo does not have to move him and may not want to. The same as Edmundson. If a GM wants him they will have to pay what HuGo is asking or Habs will keep him.

About 0% chance Montreal would retain half (or any) of a multi-year contract.
Hughes has been very clear about this, as well.
Also, Lavoie has character issues around him, I'd steer clear.

If Anderson gets moved, I expect Winnipeg or Carolina, at this point. Teams that haven't already committed whatever cap they could free to other acquisitions.

I think the Jets will not want to trade with the Habs for a long time. They probably aren't happy with Montreal media talking to Dubois and his agent about Montreal and view it as tampering.

the Canes probably don't want to do any big trades with the Habs either.

I think its Calgary and Edmonton or bust for any Anderson trade.

Why would the habs be at fault for the media talking to Dubois and his agent? Tampering what, free speech?

As for the canes Bergevin was fired and hockey is a business who cares

Its hilarious watching Hab fans give Dubois and Andersson similar value.

As a Habs fan, you should see how the fanbase is split on Anderson on our board this is very funny.
That being said, I believe all Habs fans think Dubois is a much better player than Anderson, i.e. that he has much more value.
Now regarding the price of Dubois in a trade, if you take Trouba as a comp, it is much lower than his intrinsic value.

Either way Anderson is worth A LOT LESS than Dubois.

It's hilarious, listening to fans, lump an entire fan base together......
It’s hilarious seeing you say nothing to those fans but if someone talks negative about Montreal and here you are. How about you hold the same standard to your own fan base?
