Vilardi has taken such a step forward this year. I’ve never seen a player take such a massive step. You guys should watch him. His game is extremely good.

Because he is FINALLY healthy. Kings fans (myself included), were ecstatic when Vilardi fell to us in the draft, and fans of other teams were crushed saying he dropped way farther than he should have. The issue is that he lost multiple seasons of development opportunity due to injury, and, during that time, other prospects passed him on our depth chart. THANKFULLY, Kings management did not listen to the idiotic calls by fans (again, myself included) asking to trade him for a pick or as a throw in for some larger package as it seemed like he had stalled out and was entering bust territory.

He's always had the talent. He's now finally had the opportunity to stay healthy, develop, and should hopefully put to bed the doubts about him being a core part of our long-term future.

and your comprehension on that history is biased ... and umm 1 this year .. haha its called google

"Can't make it on a shitty team" but several GM's call the Habs about him. I'll trust my comprehension more than your devalue narrative. In truth, we are not shopping Anderson. Some fans are and you likely feel he is really being shopped now.

Sounds to me like the Lehkonen devalue attempts... "He's barely worth a 2nd rounder". Bet you were on that bandwagon too

How is this thread still open? Vilardi has 4 goals and 7 points through the first 5 games. 6'3'', 215 lbs, and 23 years old. Not a chance LA moves him right now.
Because peeps keep opening those threads since Vilardi was drafted, explaining how bad he is and they want to trade for him despite being a bust.
I guess this won't stop

I am curious what would need to be added to Anderson to get to Vilardi, it would be mountainous though
Vilardi is not for sale at all

That's the issue. Cap space. Many teams have this problem. Going to unblock a bit after this season but salaries will also go up for UFA's and RFA's.

Personally, I am not trading Anderson. Not a perfect power forward type but he's a solid player and the type you want for the playoffs.

For My team yes some of the problem would be cap space .. but we have more of a too many forwards and not enough spots

Vilardi is much better than Dach. How are Dvorak & Dach top end C’s anyway. Not too mention ANOTHER top end C ? 🤦

Gabe is too slow to play C and will be a winger during his career so its a moot point anyway.
Vilardi *much* better than Dach? I don’t know about that. I do know he is older, though.
Vilardi has been converted to wing which is a better position for him.

Like Anderson. Think he would do well on the Kings but the contract would be a killer with us so close to the cap. His size is very appealing but L.A has drafted some high skill big guys in Byfield, Kaliyev and Vilardi and has some grinders with size like Helenius percolating.

Very curious to see how Vilardi is used and how he responds this year. With his back issues he lost two years of development so I think we are just starting to see what he has to offer. The boy has a wicked release and might be our most skilled prospect.

Now please trade us Edmundson. He is exactly what the Dr ordered back on our blue line.
I wasn’t aware of that. I thought he was still a center. Anyhow, Vilardi seems to be having a good start and I like Anderson as a player and what he brings to the habs. I think this is a situation where both teams keeps their guy.

As for Edmundson, you get your wish. There are rumors here in Montreal that he may be available for picks at the deadline.
He is a winger. He played wing all year last season as a position change with him getting his chance in LA this year
See above - I wasn’t aware of that.

Vilardi is the definition of "untouchable" right now. He is the Kings leading scorer on a hot streak, just turned 23.
I suspect these ridiculous trade proposals for him will fade for a while.

The whole HF board users thanks you. Now can you spread the word to fellow Montreal fans

Habs fans base is not united and it will never be. Spread the word ;). If you think that is going away, you are fighting a loosing battle.

You are obsessed with belittling Habs fans clearly. It's been a trend and you think no other fan base proposes weak trades. Comical.

I would urge Kings fans not to quote any posts from a couple weeks ago to rub Vilardi’s success in anyone’s faces and I’d urge mods to just close this thread. It was created before the season and I don’t think any Kings fan was expecting this output from Vilardi.

Let’s just call this thread an outdated take on one of our player’s value.

Would you trade Josh Anderson to LA for Gabriel Vilardi and one of their RHD.

Montreal does this because Anderson was rumored to be on the trade block last year and allows them to clear his large salary. They acquire a young up-and-coming center and a RHD which would push one their young D to Laval.

LA does this to get a big physical winger to replace Brown for 2 players who might have to be put on waivers anyway
don't see why its LAK who add if they take on $5.5M
