Value of: Josh Anderson to a contender

If you re a forward scoring at a 20 point pace you re not a top 6. points are not everything but as a forward they are essential
You're missing my point. Recent production is fairly meaningless: he's roughly a 20 goal forward, GMs know this and know his overall value basedonthe whole of his play over his career.

A couple of hat tricks wouldn't even meaningfully impact his trade value, even if his numbers for this season would look much better.

No matter how hard they try.

Habs are not trading Josh Anderson because it would cost a sweetener to do so. Therefore, the Habs have no reason to trade him.

This concept isn't that hard...

They did their best to trade him. Hughes even had LeBrun shilling for them. We aren't disagreeing. The concept isn't that hard.

There's no evidence they were trying to trade him. The media reported they received calls on him. Big difference.

But of course you are not up to speed on facts...

There is no trade that makes sense for Josh Anderson.

Not the media. LeBrun. Same LeBrun who told you all PLD was going to the Habs. He isn't an insider, he's Hughes shill.

Again, no matter how much it upsets you we are agreeing. Habs should keep him as he is a negative value asset and the Habs are a long way from trying to win.

That's the only thing you have stated that had some intellect behind it. Well done!

NHL GMs don't scout based on the scoreboard, they have their own opinions on how players would fit into their team structure, regardless of recent statitistics.
the players not only have to fit into their team structure but also into their salary cap structure. for the role anderson qualifies he just has a too high cap hit.

They received calls. That's all.

He's a necessary commodity for a young, soft rebuilding team.
They did not get call that were offering a 1st. Hughes had his shill put that BS out there and the world laughed. LeBrun has no shame but if he want to be the Habs Insiderrrr he has to play the game, no matter how stupid he looks.

He's just not worth moving for a team that is 5 years away from the playoffs.

Again, all fiction. Where is it documented that Hughes put him on the market and was actively pursuing a trade?

That's a fair criticism, and likely means if dealt he'd be moved for overpaid players, and/or the acquiring team would have to allocate more cap to his role than they would've liked, lowering his trade value.

I love Habs fans for comments like these.

No matter how hard they try.
Fans don't need to want Anderson its team management that matters for all teams and if a team wants him they'll try to acquire him if Montreal / Hughes want to keep him they won't trade him .

A pile of garbage. He toned down his game otherwise he would always be hurt. He isn't likely to run around throwing hits all season although he may be willing to do it in the playoffs

That shill LeBrun. Maybe you need to google the word shill. No one was offering a first.
No one knows what HuGo plans to do unless the other side leaks details. And that would likely end negotiations.

Zero chance Habs move Anderson for a similar contract even if that player is a lot better offensively but lacks size and physicality. Habs need Anderson’s physical presence more than Garlsnd’s offence.
I can't see Montreal moving Anderson also. They need his size and physicalty. Monahan I think Habs sign also.

Probably only players Montreal moves are Allen, Armia, Kovacevic. For mid round picks

It's easy to say "Montreal won't trade Anderson" when you know that no one would consider taking him on in a trade.
