Player Discussion Joseph freaking Woll

One of the only bright spots this season. At this point I'd just go for the cheapest tandem available next year. Let Sammy walk, trade/buyout Murray's sorry ass. Just sign a cheap vet to pair with Woll.

Or even spend a couple extra million to get Varlamov

I don't want Samsonov. He proved he's just as inconsistent and injury prone as he's always been. He's also of the age where he's not gunna want to be a mentor to Woll, and even if he does I wouldn't want him in that role given his immaturity issues in Washington.

Give Woll the keys to the castle and get a stable vet to pair with him

I like Woll too, but he's played 10 games split over 2 seasons you can't hand him the #1 spot.

You can when f***ing samsonov is the alternative. A former 1st rd pick that was so bad and had such a bad attitude his own team dumped him for nothing.

I agree handing Woll the #1 job might not be the safest move. But when the organization has no cap space for a better alternative (thanks to the overpaid divas up front) sacrifices have to be made.
 
Samsonov had a pretty darn good year overall. Not sure what all the hate is towards him. He’s no Sorokin or Shesterkin but he’s been one of the better goalies we’ve seen in recent years in a Maple Leaf uniform. Regardless, I’m hoping for a good year from both Samsonov and Woll.

Samsonov will have better numbers than Sorokin this season.

I am praying we do. The statistic that teams win the cup 90% of the time with a homegrown tender is all I need to know.

Woll is essentially our only hope.

Nothing wrong with an internal competition for the net this season, but part of me feels we’ve got a goalie here. He makes very little mistakes as far as I can tell.
 
Thank you Hunter for Woll, the crazy thing is Ian Scott until his injury killed his career I thought he was going to be our started.

Woll was excellent against Tampa.

He looks like he can be a solid goalie, maybe nit one of those guys like Vasi or Price where it’s just not fair, but really solid. Right now all Sammy is good for is the post game quips.

I f***ing love Woll. Like I said before, best goalie on this team. He's gunna be... nay already is, a great one.

If only Samsonov's cap space could be used on someone useful
