If this is indeed it for Jordy in a Kings' uniform, I wish him all the best going forward. I have a soft spot for guys who won in '12 and '14. I remember Nolan coming up from the minors with King in 2012 and providing so much energy up and down the lineup. It was exactly what we needed. Injuries have kind of derailed Nolan's career, but he's a big man who can skate and has a good head on his shoulders. Thanks for everything, Jordy.

Jordan “Wayne Gretzky” Nolan was one of my least favorite Kings players, but man, did he try his best. His feet and hands never did the correct thing at the same time. Once he stopped throwing his body and being a pest, he stopped being useful. I won’t miss him, but he was a solid part of that 2012 cup team. Good luck Nolan.

Yep. Never forget any of those guys who brought the first Cup to LA.

In an hour the site will go offline and everyone will be left wondering what happened to Jordan Nolan until tomorrow. :)

I hadn't read about this until you mentioned it. Talk about timing.

Best of luck to him, I always liked him and always felt that as he was not a Sutter favorite, in the dog house too much, unlike King, who was Sutter's fair-haired boy, he never got the chance he might have here to develop better. From what Dennis Bernstein reported yesterday, Nolan made the request, he hasn't been satisfied with his role with the Kings. I think he'll be a great fit in Buffalo, his size, speed, physical game and heart will go a long way for a young team. I think he'll fare well under Housley.

100%. He'd start playing great then do something to piss Sutter off and that was it, banished to the press box. He's an upgrade over Deslauriers for sure.

Really? That seems... odd.

I don't think so, with the influx of prospects, signing Cammy, which created a downward effect on the lines, the bottom 6 landscape changed. He wasn't a regular , not under Sutter So I could see him seeing more time riding the press box. But I think he's been dissatisfied for a while and this was a good opportunity for both sides to move on. Botterill seemed pretty happy to have him in Buffalo.

I as hear he grew dissatisfied with the organization over time and why such an early waiver now. Single digit goal scorer with toughness.

Following up on
@DennisTFP's post, strong belief in LA is Nolan grew dissatisfied with club & wanted a change for some time.

Not odd that he would want a change, just odd that he would ask for waivers. I guess nobody is really trading for a fringe 4th liner though. At any rate, best of luck to him, will always be a part of the two most special teams this franchise has ever put together.

Later Nolan.

Most memorable moment has to be him killing former King Peter Harrold and getting jumped by Tom Sestito

Or maybe scoring in Game 4 against St. Louis in 2012 and setting up Fraser's goal in Game 1 of the SCF?

I'll give you Harrold but getting jumped by Sestito isn't close to the first thing that comes to mind.

I like how he was running through the Ducks blue line by beating Souray and Allen in fights during the same season. Very good 4th line guy until the injuries piled up.

Great draft pick value. Hope he regains his form in Buffalo.

I will always have a spot for guys that were on the teams that won Cups.

But that spot isnt on our current team if they are useless. Hopefully Cliffy and AA will have similar fates in the coming weeks. League is about skill and these guys have none. Farewell Jordy, best of luck

I dunno about AA but Cliffy will still be here at least till his bobble head day :) To all those s people thinking hes on his way out Why would a team make a bobble head of someone there going to get rid of. Get used to him being here as it looks to me like the team has no plans of him leaving. :)

That would leave only one "tough guy" on the team in MacDermid. I'm not sure about you guys but I don't want MacDermid playing all 82 games this season. The games he'd not be in the line-up other teams can take liberties at our star players and you guys can whine why nothing's being done just like those games against Calgary.
