I think the back injury and DoPS scrutiny really changed his game. He used to hit like a truck and was dirty at times but did pretty much nothing last year.

Started that scrum against the Ducks by messing with Getzlaf and then just let the Ducks beat him up, I assume in the hopes of drawing a penalty. He started doing that stupid fake glove drop **** too.

Just not the same player he was. Strange coincidence that he and King came in together and fell off the map together: forever linked.

As for Clifford, you guys are just going to have to get over it. Not doing anything in the Calgary game is a black mark on his record but this guy has the respect of his teammates, is not really a liability and he still fights a lot in the "modern" NHL.

I know we all want a guy who can win every fight and score 20 goals but there are maybe two of those guys in the league. Lower it to 10 goals and it is still slim pickings.

Nolan ran his course with the Kings. He showed flashes of skill periodically, but was never consistent and was frequently injured. I highly doubt he is going to go to another team and suddenly light it up. I am okay with letting him go to the AHL team or getting picked up. He got his fair shake here.

By end of summer or mid-season, we will likely see more players waived or traded for conditional 7th round picks to open up roster spots for new blood. Guys like Andreoff and Clifford are most likely next. It's also possible that Dowd could get moved if Kempe impresses management, or Dowd is ineffective on wing. We will see.

Sad to know both King and Nolan are gone and they both spark plugged the Kings team from 2012. It was the emergence of Voynov, the trade for Carter, the hiring of Sutter and the call up of Nolan/King that changed that season for us.

Sad to see Jordan Nolan waived. He was one of my favorites. Surprised, but not surprised. I figured this was his last year with the Kings. Dwight King being traded a few months ago somewhat prepared us for it. Turnover was coming.

All I ask from management is consistency and no favortism. If Clifford does bad again he should be gone during the season as well

Nobody would take Clifford in a trade. The best we can do is waive him and send him to the AHL. By doing so, we will open up a roster spot for a better player and only incur a $575,000 cap hit for Clifford's contract.

Nice to see the masses get something they all craved :) One less thing to ***** about hopefully. However already seeing it should have been... People need to realize we only see the on ice product and even then not seeing all practices and interactions that management do. I will say thank you Nolan for all you gave to the kings and the part you played in us winning the cup will not be forgotten. I hope you get picked up somewhere as you deserve a spot somewhere. I wish you luck where ever you end up.

Pittsburgh traded for Ryan Reaves and paid quite a bit.

Everyone can be traded.

This surprised me too. I thought at times last year he played some of his best hockey, showing good speed and decent hands. Turnover is inevitable but I will always feel a bit sad when members of the Cup teams move on. People who cheer their departures **** me off. Best of luck to Jordan in the future.

The term on Reaves' contract ends this year, and his cap hit is about $500,000 less than Clifford. If he doesn't work out for Pittsburgh, they can just waive him, and have no cap hit for next year.

Clifford is signed until 2020, with a $1.6 million cap hit. Nobody is touching that contract.

You can say "****" on here? Gnarly.

Yeah...Nolan was a real ass-kicker in 2012 and then the lockout season. Won a few fights against the Ducks and really laid some big hits. The pre-season hit on Klesla was just massive, as was his hit on Peter Harrold. Loved the sucker punch he got suspended for against Edmonton after an Oiler player "roughed up" Doughty. I use quotes there because it is nothing like what Tkachuk did to Doughty last season but the response was 10x more than whatever happened last season.

Nolan was a real physical presence during the 2012-14 run. All his best YT clips are from this time. Kind of mirrors the attitude of this team...really lost the arrogance/confidence that the veteran leadership provided. Here's to hoping the current leadership group can figure it out.

This shouldn't surprise anyone.

Nolan stopped being a team guy last season, and Sutter subtle hinted at it with the bizarre injury/skipping practice thing that happened last season.

That not only rubbed Sutter wrong, it most likely rubbed Kings brass and players wrong.

Regarding Clifford, I would never question Clifford's work ethic and commitment to his team.

The pre-season game where MacDermid nailed Ryan White after the scuffle with Kopitar and then destroying Pedan pretty much showed the Kings that Nolan, Clifford and Andreoff are all redundant if MacDermid plays.

Besides Iginla last year, no one on the Kings showed any heart and made all three look bad as well. Iginla fought Engelland after that Kopitar hit.

If your name is Andreoff, Nolan or Clifford and anyone cheap shot or challenges Kopitar or Doughty you have to fight them, bottom line.

I have a feeling the Canes will grab him. They need a bit of toughness and experience, plus they already have Williams. Just a hunch.

Always appreciated what Nolan brought to the table. Unfortunately seemed to always get hurt right when he looked like he was getting it together the last couple years. He and King were big sparks down the stretch run in '12. All the best to him.

Another awful signing from Dean for a player that has zero skill.

I'd retain max just to get him out of here and give someone with a brain a chance. All I hope is that Blake is consistent.

Since Brodz is RW and Nolan is RW, this could be opening up a spot for Brodzinski.

With the success of younger teams like Toronto + Edmonton coupled with the Kings lack of scoring for God knows how long, I'm happy that Stevens has recognized this.

Besides, we already have Clifford.

I love Nolan, met him at the Santa Monica mall awhile back and was very nice and took a photo with me.

As others stated, the best fighter on the team, but also the most unwilling. There are times he has lined up against players like Reaves after the Kopitar elbow and didn't even look at Reaves. His best years for fighting and scoring were 2012-13 and 2013-2014, 8 and 10 fights those years including pre-season. He played in 7 playoff games in 2013 and in 2013-2014 season had a career high 10 points.

The last few years he stopped fighting and doing much of anything really.

Nolan really stopped fighting after he was suspended. He had plenty of chances to stick up for his teammates and didn't. One by one all of Sutters favorites are being waived or traded.

The 4th line has to produce much more now than it did when he first came in and as the league got faster, our 4th line got slower and less skilled.
