Jordan Nolan sucks: Kings lose to Boston 3-1

Having to rely on Edmonton to beat Calgary for us is just sad.

It's not like this is the last game of the season and we had a one-point lead on Calgary.

Guys, there are 33 games to go. We really need some collective perspective here.

The trend of the Kings for two months at least now is to win one and lose a bunch. Win one. Lose a bunch.

They've had a handful of win streaks this season. Only one greater than three games and it was at the beginning on that homestand. Hell, that homestand is still propping the Kings up in the bubble.

They've had what... Two three game streaks? Couple back to backs?

That's really ugly and includes November, a good month for this team apparently. The trend not only has to stop but basically has to flip completely around. The team can't afford to go on losing streaks at all. Just as you may think I'm underestimating this team, I think a lot of people are underestimating the Flames, the Canucks, and the Stars right now. Just assume they're all gonna drop off the planet.

Just finished watching the game. I thought they played a decent game. But I can't for the life in me figure out what Sutter was thinking with those lines. It killed the offensive. Every line had a 4th liner. :shakehead

Everyone keeps winning and we keep losing. San Jose and Calgary won tonight. Flames were down 2-0 going into the 3rd. Now that's a team that's working hard and fighting for their playoff spot.

That lady in the gray sweater is lucky she didn't lose her hand.

They were playing against the Oilers though....

We lost to the President's Cup team from last season and they beat the Oilers.

Again, perspective people. It's an 82-game season and there are still 33 games to go. Long way yet. And we looked pretty good tonight.

I think the Kings will be fine. You guys do know this team is the defending champs, right? Have some ****ing faith. Jesus H. Christ.

Good night. :)

Oh, and one more thing: Jordan Nolan is beginning to heat up. Things are definitely looking good. :)

Would love to say "good effort, deserved better" but the team is in too much of a hole to say that.

Gonna go down to the wire. Our defense is useless outside of Doughty and Regehr I swear.

It says good night, but the green light is still on. Cannot compute.

So were the Kings not too long ago.

They realized their tanking technique was not good enough after that game. The Oilers can't hold a lead if their lives depended on it.

We've also done comebacks plenty of times already (last game was one). One too many has caused us to slip up a little bit.

They were playing against the Oilers though....

And know how to beat the teams they should. They are also 15-4-1 against the pac division, the best in the league. They are also .500 or under against all the other divisions, so there's that.

I meant it's supposed to be easy to beat the Oilers, so anyone winning against them is not impressive at all. Obviously they're putting up a fight, but so are we. We're starting to work hard and we are showing signs that we want to make the playoffs. If we played the same way we played today against the Oilers, we'd win by a blowout.

I think the Flames are just having an outlier season. Look at Colorado, they have "skilled and fast rookies" and good goaltending; had one good season and returned to their usual ****** play.

We were saying there are 50 games left in December. Plenty of time for the Kings to start putting up wins.

Soon it will be 25 games left, then 15, then 10, then ooops, Season's over.

Kings have 93 points, and out of the playoff's. The Boy's need to win more than one or two in a row here.

There needs to be some strings of wins here soon.

We've been through quite a few highs and lows, but this season, I'm setting my expectations low because the way this team has performed since December has instilled a lack of confidence in them suddenly being able to flip a switch.

A lot of guys are performing well below their usual production, the Kings lost an entire second pairing in Mitchell-Voynov without anyone being able to step in their place, the special teams play has been erratic, the overall team shooting percentage is abysmal, the top players are taking many nights off, and just looking at their style of play, these guys just look like they are either disinterested most nights or they're already out of gas, I don't know which.

I never had these doubts in 2011-12 even with their struggles, I felt that they had a strong regular season in 2012-13 and there was no doubt that they'd be ready for another long run in 2013-14 after the way the previous season ended, these guys looked hungry and wanted to prove everyone wrong that they're a resilient bunch and aren't some one-and-done team good for one Cup run.

But this season, I just don't know what to say about the play of the likes of Kopitar and Williams. Those two in particular have really disappointed me this season. Sure, guys like Doughty and Muzzin have a few head scratching moments, but it's not a lack of effort from them that we're questioning.

And this isn't me being negative or a pessimist. I'm being realistic and calling what I see out there. Some outside help isn't going to suddenly turn things around. There are a number of leaders on this club who have to flip a switch and play like they care. Otherwise, their season will be done come April.

There are a lot of veterans who are nowhere to be found, not involved in the play, not pushing it as hard as we've seen them perform in the past. There are guys who can dictate the play with a shift who haven't had a "defining" moment within the confines of a 60-minute game in quite some time. That is what has me concerned.

There's a string of good posts behind me for sure. I get the sentiments, I really do. But I still think the hate is misplaced at Kopitar. You saw the graphic tonight in the telecast just like I did, he's tied with Kane for leading the NHL in points since December some-date-whatever. I don't get the hate for him.

Guys like Williams, sure. Brown, the play is there--but the production is not and we need it. Gaborik, I feel like he's been okay, but same as brown. Toffoli is growing before our eyes, guy is dynamic as hell and I didn't buy into him as a Williams replacement before but my god I hope he's a King for life. The rest, the heart is all there, but the results aren't. It's a shame because a lot of it is really just **** luck, some bad focus at times, bounces, and having a target on their backs. I mean, it's definitely not lack of EFFORT, but it's lack of effort 100% of the time--it's just that 2% timing lack of effort ends up in a goal against.

Again, to me, if we play every game like these last two, I'm comfortable saying we're in--but as others have pointed out, we've given ourselves a razor-thin margin for error. so It's tough. But it's not time to give up yet.
