Guhle showed great upside with his puckmoving last yr (when he was playing) but let's not act like he wasn't exposed defensively many times, whereas Harris played much safer but made very little mistakes (+0 career with our dumpster team is very impressive). I think Xhekaj is overrated outside of his toughness role and his skating is not good. I think at this pt the best course of action is keeping everyone and make them compete for the remaining spots. Current Harris and Xhekaj have better value to us than on the trade market. Injuries will happen so everyone should get plenty of icetime.
Guhle was facing other teams best lines with David Savard as partner (who played very well but he’s not a top pair Dmen) while Harris was facing 3-4th line. You can’t compare how they where exposed.

Xhekaj bring something unique that you absolutely need in your team going forward. Would I trust Harris more then Xhekaj for facing top pair of the other team ? Absolutely but we have other guys who can do that and we have many LD.

Is trading Harris a must ? Of course not but he’s replacable and if he can be piece in a trade to fielding other holes, then you do it because you need to give to receive like Romanov last year

Harris is a good guy, good potential aswell, but in a trade, I would include him ahead Xhekaj anyday of my life. Xhekaj is rare, Xhekaj it's like having Romanov with better offensive talent. Habs need to keep Xhekaj, Harris is much more tradeable. We have Hutson and Engstrom in coming anyway.

I mean those guys could never make it, you don’t trade an actual NHL player because you think some prospect could make it in the futur. Wait to see what you have with those guys before

What make Harris expendable is that we have Guhle/Matheson/Xhekaj and yes many LD prospect.

Not that I want to see him gone, gonna be a good one, but yes we are stacked on the left side of the D and the right needs help.....e cold go to the Peg, or anywhere, to lighten the issue on the left side.

Hughes has to address both the D and forward group when it comes to having too many players at those positions. I can see Harris shipped off soon. Can't keep them all.

I love Harris but he's so getting traded soon... Happy Birthday, buddy!!!
They just signed him to an extension, one of the first moves made this offseason...i'd be surprised.

Although, perhaps his new deal makes him even more appealing in a trade.

Is there a spot for Jordan Harris longterm? Habs can't keep every D prospect/young player...

See what he brings this year. I’m thinking no because I don’t know if he has a standout skill to set him apart. Could be a great 3rd pairing guy who could do spot duty in your top 4 and do a decent job of it

Long term? No way
Short term? .. still no it feels like lol

The Hutson pick and his shocking early results has basically made Harris redundant sadly, And Guhle and Xhekaj are going nowhere.
Really won't be shocked if he gets moved, but hopefully, it's not for a measly pick, but more like he's included in a decent package for a really good piece for our team moving forward.
Absolutely nothing against the guy, like him a lot, but what exactly are we gonna do with the kid when there's barely any room for him now, and going to be even less room in coming years?

You can't really afford to have two smaller dmen in the starting 6, let alone top 4. Harris is likely a great value top 4 dman for a good part of his career. he's steady, responsible and a fast puck mover... it just feels like he's the odd man out unless one of Hutson or Barron don't pan out as NHLers.

I agree with you here, but the problem is he doesn't hold much value yet and will need a lot of playing time and excel in a position with more responsibilities, to build his value.

I like Harris and think he has some solid potential, but the reality is a lot of teams have guys at a similar level to him and plenty even go through the waiver wire.

Well apparently Mike Matheson, David Savard, Kaiden Guhle and Justin Barron are locks for the top 6D.

So Harris will be in tough along with Xhekaj, Kova and Lindstrom.

Xhekaj's a lock, c'mon lol
Kovasevic and Harris will be alternating #6 and #7 most likely with Wideman as #8(sigh)
So Lindstrom is obviously Laval bound

One guy who some fans don't think is a lock is Arber Xhekaj which baffles me. While Arber will top out as a bottom pairing D, his toughness will always be needed and coveted.

I'm being facetious from a conversation i'm having in another thread.

I think Xhekaj chances to make the team are very good but like I said in the Barron thread...other than Matheson, Savard and Guhle.

I don't think anyone is a lock.

Harris won't play a single game for the Rocket we heard that too last year..

Kovac is the extra and Norlinder lost brother will buy a subway pass if unclaimed. Wideman stays as Youppi.

Not necessarily. I know people like him because he fights and that’s what sticks with people but he wasn’t very good.

No, he's a lock.
I get what you're saying, he got caught a couple of times as a fresh faced NHL rookie, no doubt, growing pains.
You know who got caught even more than fresh faced rookie Xhekaj? Edmundson, and an NHL team still traded for him lol

More to point, Xhekaj offensive rookie numbers were nothing to sneeze at either as he was up there when it came to Rookie D NHL goals
People might look at his 5 goals in 50 games as 'small' but you'd be amazed how many decent D in the NHL top out at 3-4 NHL goals a season

Xhekaj had even become a hot commodity in Fantasy lol as his PIM and HITS numbers were through the roof
