I could see scenario where by March, Lekkerimaki, Wilander and Raty are all up in playing in Vancouver.

And there's a chance all three of these rookies would be better than anything they could acquire at the TDL, for which you'd have to dramatically 'overpay'.

Watching the NHL highlights tonight, there are so few players in the best league in the world who can shoot the puck like Lekkerimaki.

It's ridiculous how much mustard he gets off his shot and how little backswing he uses on the one-timer. It just explodes off his stick. Sometimes his best release comes while he looks to be skating backwards. He's forcing AHL goalies to make great saves from 30-feet out.

He's a goal-scorer, pure and simple. And kids like that are worth their weight in gold.

It will be harder for him to score on NHL goalies from that far out but boy is he going to create a ton of rebounds with that shot.

We need that one-time on our PP1 like right now.

But I also hope he gets more time to develop his overall game in the AHL, where there is less pressure and kids don't get benched everytime a mistake is made.

His breakout World Jr. Hockey tournament last season got my attention. MVP's in that tournament have mostly gone on to enjoy stellar NHL careers. But of course it was his 'shot' that left you wanting more.

He's barely 20 years old. Can you imagine what that release might be like when he's bigger and stronger at 24-25?

IMO there's not a d-man out there who'd be available at the TDL who would be worth giving up Lekkerimaki for.

He literally can't stop scoring lol. His shot is just too good for AHL level goalies

Hopefully his entire game can round out with a full year in the AHL. He's been solid but he can pay attention to other areas of his game against lesser competition while producing a ton

That goal looks a lot like some of the ones he score in last year's World Jr. Tourney.

He drifts into the middle of the ice out near the blueline and then with just the flick of his wrists he wires a shot into the top corner of the net. I mean how does he do it?

Grabbed him & stashed him in fantasy tonight. He will play with the bigs this year, probably still will in late March/April, and I think he'll be more impactful than my worst guy in a deep league.

Can't wait to see what this guy can do for our Nucks! Tempered expectations, and crossed fingers...
