I am always concerned when smaller players struggle with skating but his skill is undeniable. Looking forward to learning more about him.

This could end up being the steal of the entire draft.

Great choice, love the offensive potential he shows, not worried about his size as he's got tons of time to get bigger.

First time in a few years that I've been very happy with a pick.
read form Smashville that they have the steal of the draft.

while Im stoked that this guy has a great ceiling and we finally have some high end talent in our pipe. Im wondering how they plan to stock up the backend. anyway to get Luneau or Chesley?

Jeesh when are we ever gonna get D or Cs that can make a difference.

Not that impressed by Boeser upside

Potentially the steal of the draft , this is a homerun pickup by Alvin and we finally have a blue chip prospect after so many years

I haven't really read up on this draft as I have in past years. I preferred Pickering here as I'm not a fan of one dimensional players who might end up being the best scorer in the draft. But at 15 and with this guy being ranked as a top 10 pick, it's hard not to like this pick. Lots of upside here.
Sounds similar to Alex Holtz who went to Nj at 8OA in 2020. Best shot in his draft as well. But I am sure Holtz overall game was a bit better.

How much should I read into his SHL stats? He got 7 goals in 26 games as a 17 year old against much stronger and much faster men. He was still 2.5 months away from turning 18 when the SHL season ended. That looks impressive on paper, considering the SHL is the 3rd strongest hockey league in the world.

bpa situation.

the way i read the body language, he was much higher on the canuck board than 15 and they could not wait to get up there and say his name before winnipeg changed their mind. i think allvin may have been so excited he flubbed the introductory remarks going right to the pick.

That is extremely impressive to get 9 points in 26 games in the SHL at 17 years old. It's mostly why he was ranked a top 10 pick across the board.

Don't love that he's going back to Allsvenskan.
Kid needs to get stronger. He’s playing in the SHL the top league in Sweden. His trajectory best case is to follow Holtz who returned to the SHL then played in the A last season. He should be on the NJ roster this fall.
