Drouin is worth more to Bergevin than anyone else. Trading him means acknowledging that Montreal got fleeced in the Sergachev trade, so better to keep Drouin and hope against hope that he improves.
??

Bergevin has already tried trading Drouin. Now that he's healthy, it makes sense to let him rebound so that he can either be kept as a useful player or traded with better value. If he's kept, it will have nothing to do with who he was traded for.

I don't really want Drouin on my team, so it would have to be to get rid of someone. For Flyers, I'd think about JVR.

As a habs fan, we are way better off keeping him. Absolutely zero incentive to trade him based on his perceived value around the league. He showed some promise last year and with Suzuki in the playoffs, let’s see what he can do in a full season with a better surrounding group of players. He’s good for 50 points, but his potential is much higher if he can just figure it out. At 5.5M it’s not killing the cap. We are fine for this year...maybe he turns into a 60-65 point player which I think he has every capacity to do so especially playing with Suzuki. Trading him now is absolutely terrible/awful management and it’s trying to solve something that is not really a problem yet, all for a reliable winger? We have 10 of those thank you very much

trading Drouin right now falls in the category of trying to do too much in my opinion. Replacing him with a reliable winger doesn’t change the look of our team. Drouin is arguably the most talented on our team and we already have tons of reliable players.
^^This pretty much sums it up. I'd rather keep him and turn down all the generous 4th and 5th round pick offers

I could honestly see Drouin‘s talent re-awakening on the Flames. Treliving can create a story of courage, honour, determination and redemption by finally getting a chance to reverse the stigma of the Martin St.Louis debacle.

Flames: Drouin + 3rd (Flames choose between 2021 or 2022)
Habs: 2021 1st, Dube.

That is an absolutely awful deal for the Flames. I wouldn’t trade Dube for Drouin. I would be open to trading for him, but we do not have cap space so there would need to be significant money going back.

Don’t see us trading Drouin, he looked as good as I’ve seen playing with Suzuki in the play-in, don’t see why you would not give that another opportunity.

What teams can even take his salary?

In the last 3 yrs he’s slightly over 0.5 PPG.

As ES he is below 0.5 PPG which makes him too expensive if not on PP1.

It’s best to wait till deadline or next offseason

Bolts need to retain on salary and throw in a 1st if they want to move him at this point.

Meh i know Drouin's value is pretty bad but he's like the type of player you hate over and over but will most likely still get his points somehow.

A team could have traded for him if covid was not a thing. Habs should rather keep him ... He can still play hockey hes not a deadweight

Maybe Arvidsson. Habs save a million but go on the hook for an extra season. Both players get a reset. Doubt Preds fans like it but only thing I could think of.

Garbage offer to the Flames. Drouin and Mete are cap dumps. With only $4M in cap space remains, Flames will include Lucic.

Again we will keep our 55 pt temperamental disappointment cap dump, you keep your 20 pt star.

Mete a cap dump.

Do you even know what a cap dump is?

LOL, you are upset because you are stuck with capdumps like Compher, Donskoi, Cole and EJ. I get it. But don’t embarrass yourself by calling Mete a capdump. That alone disqualifies you as reasonable poster. :D

Or do you not understand what a capdump is? If so pm me and I would be happy to educate you my friend. :)

Not going to speak on the offer, but there is no defensible argument to saying a player making 735k can even be remotely considered a cap dump and it kind of speaks to your biases that you would suggest otherwise.

AVs will gladly keep their 20 PT player for Millions less. It allows the team flexibility on trades and extending their FAs. AVs still have $6.8M & $30.5M remaining for the next 2 seasons. Compared to the HABs $400K and $16.3M.

Sakic has been brilliant with Cap management and avoiding idiotic deals ie. Anderson 1G last season to a 7 year @ $5.5M deal.

Its a pattern with that poster. Calling Mete a capdump made me burst out laughing. He just solidified his views as worthless. What a shame.

Mete is a great guy to have as a 7D on the cheap.

Mete is worse than Jost. He can’t play defense due to his size and can’t score. Useless player which is a throw-in cap dump. Jost is playing on the fastest team in the league and needs a change with a slower club like the Habs.

Again you are doubling down on stupidity. Mete at 735K cannot be a capdump. He is the opposite of capdump. The fact that you are clueless on this is astounding! LOL

You can try to prop him up all you like but everyone knows Jost sucks
