As a habs fan, we are way better off keeping him. Absolutely zero incentive to trade him based on his perceived value around the league. He showed some promise last year and with Suzuki in the playoffs, let’s see what he can do in a full season with a better surrounding group of players. He’s good for 50 points, but his potential is much higher if he can just figure it out. At 5.5M it’s not killing the cap. We are fine for this year...maybe he turns into a 60-65 point player which I think he has every capacity to do so especially playing with Suzuki. Trading him now is absolutely terrible/awful management and it’s trying to solve something that is not really a problem yet, all for a reliable winger? We have 10 of those thank you very much
trading Drouin right now falls in the category of trying to do too much in my opinion. Replacing him with a reliable winger doesn’t change the look of our team. Drouin is arguably the most talented on our team and we already have tons of reliable players.
