I think he along with Armia struggle to keep their heads in games. They do well when they are on but struggle when the season becomes a grind. To bad as they could both be effective if they consistently brought their A games.
Drouin goes out with a whimper. I kept an open mind to the end, but finally I am clear that I do not want him back even at a minimum contract.

I've rarely not want to see a guy back this much. He's so useless, lazy, scared of the traffic...

I hope management will learn from historical mistakes. Sergachev, McDonagh...

I'm glad it's over.

I've hated players on this team a lot more (Joel Armia, looking at you), but I'm tired of hearing about Drouin and his potential.

Good luck to him, hopefully far away from Montreal. I think he could potentially have a good career in Europe although an NHL team will likely take a gamble on him.

Oh no! The "bad influence" who is "hated by his teammates" strikes again!

Drouin is exactly like that whoopee cushion. It seems like the real deal yet it's odorless and gets annoying real fast. Jokes aside good for him to get out of here.

Funny he does that to the "smart" kid of the class too.

He’ll be lucky if he gets a PTO from anybody. Making him have to earn something may be the only way any team can get even a little value out of him at this point. He basically sleep walked threw the entirety of his 6 year contract.
I think he’ll easily get PTO if he wants one. Getting a contract is still likely but PTO? That’s just an invite to camp. That’s easy.

Who’s wasting a contract spot on him even at league minimum? Not good enough to be in anyone’s top 6 and to much of a liability defensively to be a depth player. If he wants to keep playing, then I can see a team giving a PTO to try and earn a place. Maybe that lights a fire. Otherwise he could be done. He’s probably banked close to $20 million after tax already floating around a hockey rink so I don’t see a guy like Drouin being super motivated to try and turn things around. I think we would’ve seen that this year if it was going to happen.

He's got 10 points in the last 15 games. They're playing him because he's producing more than Pitlick and most of our other forwards.

I get that he's unliked around here, but he had a few very good games recently. He's got some of his speed back and made great passes. Not sure we have a lot of other guys that brings what he brings on the team, even with all his downsides.

A guy like Farrell could end up replacing him at some point though.
yes his secondary assists are so well done.
He's having PP time and most top 6 time and still make more turnovers than the whole team.
Enough is enough.

I doubt it, Bergevin tried to trade him and so did Hughes and there were no takers. Swiss league is the perfect place for him for a few years or he may just retire.

Agreed. We should not trade Guhle or Mailloux at this time. Harris or Struble are a different kettle of fish. Don't have the upside of a Sergachev or McDonagh.
