Tampa possibly being interested in Grigs is possible.

ColoradI has no need for Johnson and they don't have the cap room.

Disagree about Colorado having zero need for Johnson. They've played both Mack and Duchene on the wing before.

Although I think there's a chance he could breakout in Colorado I don't see Grigorenko having a ton of value at this point. I don't Colorado would be willing to add to Grigorenko what it would take to get Johnson.

That plus is Rantanen right? I'm not even sure if Tampa would even consider a package of Grigs and Jost.

the 40pt 3rd liner making 4.5 mil until 2023? yeah id probably leave him exposed over a guy with 72 pts 2 seasons ago

That "third liner" played 18-20 mintues in all situations, and scored 31 points in 43 games in the postseason the last 2 years. That "third liner" has the faculty to elevate his game to a top-line winger when it matters the most. Those type of "third liners" don't come cheap and I'm convinced Yzerman would get a nice amount of trade proposal if Alex Killorn was on the market. If he remains exposed, Las Vegas will highly consider him.

I don't think Avs can take on another forward that will get a big contract at this time.

Avs have no cap space and Tampa need to free up cap space. Bad fit.

Hahah. No chance Grigorenko fetches TJ.

I will admit I was on the Grigorenko bandwagon in 2012 until just weeks before the draft. He's just not near Johnson at all.

I didn't say Johnson should be exposed. Was curious about Killorn as I don't know how TB fans view him. I wasn't a fan of his contract, but I never really watched him either.

I think he'd be a good claim for a new team regardless.

Tampa fans want to keep everyone on this current roster if they could but this is reality. We got rid of the contract we wanted to get rid of, which was Carle. Guy was just bad. Now it has become more of who is the better choice to stay on this roster. If the cap was higher and players made less there would be no conversations and this place would be kinda boring, lol. These players still all have a big role, espeically Killorn, but you look at the system and see if there is anyone who can replace another player. With Filppula, Bishop and even Garrison you have guys ready or close to ready to take on those roles coming up from the system, either now, or next season. Not sure about Killorn, but having Drouin and Stamkos together in the entire playoffs should make up his production and then some. As you know Killorn turns it up in the playoffs, but is more of a middle six guy in the regular season, and making 4 to 4.5 million is pretty much on the the money for a 40 point guy who can mix in the top 6. Hate to say it but that Killorn contract is very enticing for a brand new expansion team.

Colorado would def have to add if they want Johnson and are only offering up Grigorenko.

As an Avs fan I dont think we should be moving Grigorenko right now.

He doesn't have that much value, but he quietly had a solid year for the Avs last year. Started out as a healthy scratch, and slowly moved his way further up the lineup, finding himself as a Top 6 winger by the end of the year and making players around him better every line he was on.

And so far he looks like he's building really well on the end of last year, with 3 goals in 3 pre-season games so far.

I think he's a prime candidate for a really good season under Bednar this year and is a guy the Avs should be hanging onto right now instead of selling when his value isn't that high.

Killorn for Grigorienko (with the expansion draft looming) makes the most sense.

He's the perfect winger for Duchene and to help them defensively and a playoff beast too.

And it only puts the team over the cap by about 3.5 million. And they'll lose one of Soderberg or Killorn to expansion. Otherwise it makes lots of sense.

I was exclusively talking about the postseason. We like to call Killorn our Robert Horry on the Bolts boards because he's just a different beast in the playoffs, he's turning into a power forward, puck possession beast, don't know how and why, but that's the reality. I didn't suggest they would expose Palat or Johnson over him, just that he's definitely worth his contract when you weight his postseason production in the equation. I'm of the opinion that Killorn is the Lightning draft expansion bait for Las Vegas, and it's apparently a consensus amongst Bolts fans. Let's face it, it's impossible to keep all these young good forwards cap-wise.

How the **** is Colorado at the cap, they hardball like crazy and don't have that many elite players and the ones they do make around 6 million.

EDIT Iggy makes over 5 million and they have 10 million tied up in Comeau/Colborne/Mitchell/McLeod/Tyutin garbage, k that makes more sense now
