I applaud Sean Monahan having the courage to answer questions; he is devastated by this.
He bought a house in Columbus three houses down from Johnny Gaudreau.
Mony held it together better than I did watching this, I'm a mess.

Man, Mony is the best
What an awesome job by Torts and the Flyers..
Hockey is special for so many reasons.
Losing a child is something Torts would be extremely sensitive too as it's something he's likely feared most of the last several years as his son is an Army Ranger... IIRC the day of the Flames/Canucks line brawl, where he went after the Flames dressing room, that was the day he learned his son was going on his first tour as a Ranger. For all of his perceived faults, Torts is a great guy.
Yeah, he may be a jackass of a coach, but he's always come across as just a genuinely decent human being.Say what you want about the way Torts handles his coaching duties, but for the big off ice stuff like this he's always come across as a class act.
I had a coach like that in college. He was a pain in the ass, I thought he hated me. Guy showed up to my mom's funeral after not seeing him for 10 years, and still calls me every once in a while to check in.Yeah, he may be a jackass of a coach, but he's always come across as just a genuinely decent human being.
He's a good coach too.Say what you want about the way Torts handles his coaching duties, but for the big off ice stuff like this he's always come across as a class act.
He’s one of the nicest people in the league. At least publicly since I obviously haven’t met everyone. He does lots of volunteer work with dogs and was also close with this kid Liam (I think that’s his name) who is a disabled Ranger fan.Say what you want about the way Torts handles his coaching duties, but for the big off ice stuff like this he's always come across as a class act.
Except for maybe, Larry Brooks.Torts cares about everyone despite the gruffness.
