Really unbelievable. I don't even know what to say. How terrible for his poor family. And his brother too...
He was an absolutely fantastic hockey player (my favourite memory is the off-the-wall pass to Fantilli). Most importantly, by all accounts he seemed like a devoted father and a genuinely good man. His time on this Earth was too short.

I am absolutely gutted. I couldn't sleep. I know it was late but the more the night went on with nothing, the scarier it got.

Popping in from the Buffalo board to express my condolences. #CBJ has been a second favorite team of mine since they entered the league, and I've spent some time in Columbus recently working junior hockey. Prayers for peace to y'all, the Gaudreau family, and everyone involved.

I genuinely don't feel well. Came in to the day looking forward to college football/NFL starting and now sports be damned. I can only pray and think about the Gaudreau family. This is simply awful for them.

Sabres fan here. Just wanted to give my condolences to the Blue Jacket fans here. I wish you and the Gaudreau family love and peace during this just shocking time. Johnny was always one of my favorite non-Sabre players and was so stoked that he signed with you guys and not one of the larger market teams. I am beyond saddened for you and all of hockey today.

B's fan here. My condolences to all CBJ fans here and the Gaudreau family. Absolutely horrible news. I got in my car and it was the first thing I heard on the radio and it really shook me as a hockey fan.
