Bellows isn't inconsistent, he's consistently poor. The Flyers have better wing prospects in the minors.
Only Lycksell is close to NHL ready, there's no reason to rush the 20 year olds.
And I expect Lycksell to replace Willman in the near future.

Can someone quote some good parts for those that don't have a subscription? Thanks in advance.

Here's how it starts:

Tortuous start was part of GM’s plan all along

John Tortorella’s hiring was as much hiding a bad team as it was hiring a demanding coach.

This is exactly what the Flyers wanted from John Tortorella. This is why they hired him. They knew the hockey team would stink. So, to shield themselves from the worst of the criticisms, they hired the one coach whose obsession with control and whose combative personality would be the story. They knew the chronic shortcomings of a team badly constructed by general manager Chuck Fletcher would be overshadowed by the chronic shortcomings of John Tortorella.

To distract from bad hockey and a bad roster they hired a coach best known for bad manners.

Conclusion:

The team doesn’t want its fans to realize that, much as the Flyers wasted the prime years of Claude Giroux, who should have been traded in 2015, they are wasting a year of goalie Carter Hart, whom they should trade before he costs them too much money. By the time the Flyers contend again, Hart will be Tortorella’s age.

That’s not Tortorella’s fault. He’s tearing things down to build back better. Fine. Trust that process, if you want. But don’t expect Fletcher to be its architect. Someone will pay after another season in the cellar, and it won’t be Torts.

It will be Fletcher. And that’s fine, too.

He’s made this bed, and he’s hiding under its covers.

More accurately, he’s hiding behind John Tortorella.

Which was the plan all along.

I bet he hoovered up lines of coke off a toilet seat between courses of his Thanksgiving dinner.

I think it's funny you believe he had a Thanksgiving dinner. Flahr definitely visited and ate the whole thing, plus one of his horses.

Then he went to Zamula's place, ate his door, and then ate all the food inside before haranguing him messily about how Z isn't eating enough.

The eating wasn't the point of that post - I am setting the stage for the PGT.

Whether Seeler is playing okay by his standards is less important than just acknowledging: what does it matter? For the "it doesn't matter" crowd this is right up their alley. He's a nearly 30 year old AAAA journeyman -- if by journeyman, I mean journeying to Fletcher's pool houses -- who should have no starting future here next season, and no future organizational role after, if not before.

I'm not saying he should be outright sat when you have Braun and the Twenty Five Million Dollar Man, but there should be nothing sacred about his role or being in a rotation. And despite all the injury narratives, the defense group has been healthy (we can forget Ellis). Our top 4 (6!) consists of players to whom Fletcher all gave new-ish contracts. If Seeler is your best performing defender, who can't leave the lineup, what does that say about the person who assembled this defense group?

It's funny that last season Yandle played over the young defensemen despite being the worst defender in the league because of *wink wink* "integrity." Now, a 7D isn't getting outright slaughtered, so he also must play over the youth. Any more excuses?
