John Tortorella is a dumbass

Again, it is deliberate. If he just says, "Hart is my guy", then the media and online chatter is still about how Hart has been bad in the series.

By going over the top, the conversation is now about Torts being a crazy person instead of Hart struggling. Judging by the reactions to this thread, that obviously worked.

How do you figure "it worked"? You are talking about it as if people are capable of only having a single conversation. Sure, we now have "Torts is a clown" chatter, but it hasn't diminished "Hart's a sieve" chatter. And yeah, the distraction may have given him enough time to dodge the question, and stunned the press room enough not to follow up, but even the dumbest person eventually sees that he dodged the question.

No. This is a deliberate tactic from Torts and he's done it consistently to deflect attention away from his players and put the scrutiny on him. People who follow the league know this.

Or maybe he just has a short fuse and dislikes reporters?

I still remember Tortorella's dumbass trying to get into the Flames locker room to try and fight Hartley and Brian McGrattan held him back with one hand like he was a toddler, guess he was just trying to distract attention from his team then too.

Doug Maclean says making the goalie change should be considered but leave it to the goalie coach

This comment said it all: "Brind'Amour is Carolina through and through. Torts is just the guy who happens to be coaching Vegas."

Brind'Amour is emotionally invested with the team and community. Torts is just Torts. One puts the team before anything/anyone else. The other has a huge ego.

That is why Carolina will be having a cup parade in three or four days.

There is more conversation about Torts on this forum and in the MSM than his actual goalie (who should be a big story for how poorly he has played). Yes, for a fact, his tactic has worked.

No. This is deliberate. Torts has said this explicitly in the past.

Your example also makes zero sense. It's a non sequitur. You say he dislikes reporters, and your example of this is him trying to fight people that are....not reporters.

Some alternative ways to look at the same facts.

There is little discussion on Hart vs Hill because there is nothing to argue about there. Most see Hill as inferior option. Little disagreement = little convo. You giving Torts credit for it is funny. Maybe Torts is protecting you against alien attacks too (I am sure you haven't been attacked by aliens = proof!)

By the way, you did notice if there is any Hart vs Hill discussion going on in this very thread, the thread that would not exist if Torts hasn't stirred up s**t with his response? That would mean that there is at least some of the discussion was actually *caused* by Torts making a fuss.

Look, I am pretty sure that there can't be any proof. I asked for it to see what the response would be. Your response makes it obvious that you aren't willing to question Torts even a little bit, and that's fine. Just do not pretend that it's anything more than your choice/preference.

What kind of rambling nonsensical post is this?

You don't even have an argument here. It's just circular complaining.

Hey Hart only let in 2 this time!

At the end of the day, you can't win if you can't score. So it's hard to put that final game on Hart.

Eh, that first one was so brutal though- not even a bad goal, just a confident dagger from Canes. Felt like they kept hammering that spot just above the pads, could just be me though. Hart battled, not a bad game in hindsight, but as the series played out and this game started.. still feels the wrong decision. Vegas does gotta score, but feeling like you can’t allow any sorta rush gets in your head.
