A lot to build on from this game: convincing win, strong goaltending, some depth scoring, Matthews goal, JT hat trick, and a hell of a football tackle by Giodano. Whether they can replicate those efforts going forward and against much better teams than the Flyers... I am not convinced, but I'll enjoy this win in the meantime.

Players gotta stand up. I didn't like that Gio had to go against 2/3 players while others were jsut standing around watching. At least grab a hold of a guy ffs. It was embarrassing to watch

34 didnt bother dropping his stick. Had that same smile against Weber back a bit. Didnt like it then either.

Tavares and Matthews had obviously good nights, still didn’t love it for Marner and Nylander was surprisingly quiet.

I liked the Swede line and thought Kampf -ZAR had a good game finally showing some good chemistry.

Didn’t like Malgin or Holl tonight.

Gio is an unbelievable leader. Manhandles Konecny and then cleans up 6'5" Hayes.

34 will never fight, he's huge but he may as well be Patrick Kane or Johnny Gaudreau's size. Which is why I'd love nothing more than an absolute beast on LW on that first line, making room for Auston & Mitch...pipe dream sadly.

The division will likely have less points from the playoff teams as the basement dwellers are beginning to improve, but the top teams from last year (TBL and FLA) are worse. If they can figure things out and start playing with some consistency this is probably the Leafs best chance to clinch the division and hopefully get an easier opponent (I'm not sold on Boston being this good despite their fantastic start).

Would be stupid for him to fight. Matthews is pretty physical though, so weird to compare him to Kane or Gaudreau considering how often he uses his size.

That Gio Goldberg spear was phenomenal. Came out of nowhere. Loved seeing the no hesitation reactions from Gio and Bunting sticking up for their star player. And what can you say about JT. Superstar game.
