Awesome another person that can't read...Oops. Not true. Marner not only has two goals, but also leads the team in assists and points, and leads all forwards in +/-.
Really, after last night you can't let it go for one day? Let it go man....How come I never see or hear players talk about him as a captain? I never see him show emotion or be vocal. Spezza is showing more heart and leadership on his sleeve. But who knows what goes on in the dressing room right?
The question I have for John Tavares is, how bad does he want it?
Oh ya forgot we are a bi-polar and schizo fan base I feel better already reading your comment. I'll put it behind me my friend until the next flavor of the week arrives.Really, after last night you can't let it go for one day? Let it go man....
This is still the best post of this ridiculous thread!Nothing good comes from a 3:30am thread.
We already have a Tavares thread, perhaps they close this eye sore? This is still the best post of this ridiculous thread!
I don't know how he has been doing since he has been with the Leafs but consistency with the Isles was never called into question by Isles fans. Overstepping the amount of time he should be on the ice at times might have been brought up but no one questioned his drive. Playing within his limitations he's a game breaker. Trying to be something he's not will just make him look silly. Would have never imagined any fanbase criticizing JT for how he played the game other than pissed off Isles fans who were upset by how he left the team.Don't think it's a case of not wanting it, I think it's a case of not knowing how.
He seems like he wants to be a consistent guy but I don't know if he knows how to bring himself out of his comfort zone or find a different level.
Tavares has no business being the captain of the Leafs. No heartBwahahah another fail. Got us into the game and tied the game.. You on ignore!!! Bwahahah
My point still stands and thats Tavares has no heart no jam and refuses to stick up for himself or his team. Piss poor captain. Hes a fine support player and thats it.That's what it takes in the post season. Draisaitl just buried a goal that went off the other teams stick. You need to be in the right place.
Why? Sunday morning you said "(Marner) has only one goal". He had two in the first three games .Awesome another person that can't read...
What happens at John’s Muskoka cottage… stays at the Tavares cottage. How come I never see or hear players talk about him as a captain? I never see him show emotion or be vocal. Spezza is showing more heart and leadership on his sleeve. But who knows what goes on in the dressing room right?
I don't think it's either. I'm sure he wants it, and I'm sure he knows how.Don't think it's a case of not wanting it, I think it's a case of not knowing how.

I cannot agree.Tavares has no business being the captain of the Leafs. No heart

When he was on the Island he trained with a speed skating coach. I don't know if he's continued that practice in Toronto and might explain why he's not skating as well as you would like. That said he was never that fast.I don't think it's either. I'm sure he wants it, and I'm sure he knows how.
It seems to be more a matter of "can't". Whether it's an injury or Covid hangover, or just mileage (some playing styles wear you down faster), he seems to be a step slower than his always not great speed.
As shown by Rielly's goal, he's still got great hands, as long as he doesn't have to do too much with his feet at the same time.
