Why did Derek Stepan play an entire game with a fractured jaw?

This is the same kind of stupid argument we heard from Montreal fans. Don't be a Montreal fan.

I'm not disputing whether the guy has a injury or not. The fact that they send him out again if they suspected he has a concussion is legitimate concern in this time of head trauma focus in sports. I never heard any talk about Stepan having a concussion.

I don't think anyone would have a problem with the suspension in a vacuum. The issue is the proportional relationship to Prust's suspension.

You tell me that Moore's hit was worth two games? Fine. Then Prust's identical hit, which came later, in the wake of threats by the coach and teammates, from a player with a history, caused an injury, and was not penalized during the game, was worth four, minimum. Period, the end.

Exactly how I feel.

Completely disagree with the decision. However, try and look at it this way...

If Moore got just a fine or even one-game suspension, the Habs could have used that as fuel going into Game 6.

They will be content with the decision and hopefully our performance from last game will give us all the fuel we need to come out flying and ready to win tomorrow night.

Diaz is a very suitable replacement for Moore and will be ready.

Send them packing tomorrow. We absolutely have too.

To be honest, I think Diaz is better than Moore. I think this benefits us, as suspending Prust benefitted the Habs in game 4 (replacement scored a goal).

It's clear to me with these rulings that if they are losing big tomorrow, Dorsett should take a run at Plekanec and break his jaw and get a 2 game suspension. I'd take that trade off. :sarcasm:
Seriously, you can't make this **** up. What a joke of a league. I'm a proponent of getting these hits out of the game. I'm disgusted by them but if you can't see the difference between them, then I'm following the wrong sport.

How come Quintal With 1320 PIM and 178 a season alone in the Q is especially qualified to be in this commitee? It's like drunk drivers being best qualified to be on the police Board, or inside traders should be calling the strings in the SEC? Was he a fighter?

My thoughts exactly.

Keep in mind that Quintal is the same sack of **** that quit on the team and wanted to return to Montreal and who talked **** on his teammates while he was still a Ranger.

Quintal is a horrible human being and an even worse player. And now we can add an even worse league executive to that list.

I would love to know how this piece of garbage weaseled his way into his current position.

Ahhh yes, the provincial collection of knuckle heads that is the NHL. Just when you think they can't amaze you anymore, magically they do.

Great get Jon.

Problem is players lie all the time about how they're feeling. That's all well and good but don't be hopping on the next class action lawsuit if that's the case.

I believe all of those PIMs were for purse swinging.

Weise claims to have been concussed by the hit. Coming from a team that accused "fishy" stuff going on with Steps broken jaw it isn't within the realm of possibility that Weise is faking it? This team has no integrity whatsoever.

Moore has actually played pretty well in the playoffs. He is a + 4. I thought Diaz played pretty well in his two games but we lost them both--those were Fleury's two shutouts. Push comes to shove I'd go with Moore. If Weise actually has a concussion at least Moore got his money's worth. Makes me think of Gallagher laughing about Stepan's jaw. So if a Ranger were to make a comment about Weise needing just a couple aspirin to me it would be just ****ing karma.

Quintal is an idiot. I don't know why the NHL is always hiring ex-players to jobs like this. Ex refs and players to the war room in Toronto. As if some of these guys don't have any agendas. All you have to see is Milbury or Cherry once to know that is not the case. I know that they're not hired by the league but they are examples of ex-players having biases and they are not really unique cases. There's loads of others just like them.

So no biggie w Moore out but I think this means Klein to ld and Diaz to rd. Klein has been solid this series do hopefully switching sides is no big deal

I heard earlier today that neither got suspended.

I'm amazed that Dorsett didn't get suspended!
The crazy things I have to hear living in this city (Montreal) during the playoffs. Can you believe some people are actually saying that Dorsett tried to water spray the little kid skating with the flag, during the opening game introductions:loony:
Supposedly the kid accidentally fell and cameras caught Dorsett handling the water bottle. What I saw on CBC, was the kid tripping on a camera wire, and Zucc trying to help him get up!
I hope we destroy them tomorrow!

They had their thread about Dorsett head butting and spearing. Some of these guys don't have a clue what a spear is. You take the blade of the stick and you shove it hard into the other players body. That's a spear. Moving a stick around between another players legs is not a spear.

They should put in Steve Moore. I'm not joking. First off all he gets a paycheck for all the **** he had to endure. And secondly, he would definitely punish players like Matt Cooke.
