romanov mete arent doing it now

You can never have too much mustard.I also want to point out that me talking about Jon Merrill in the trade thread before it happened was NOT because I wanted him....but because he was known to be available and that's the type of player Bergevin wants....And I wasn't wrong...lol.
Again, Merrill is not a bad player. But you can't look at a hockeyk team by fillling it with not bad players. You need complementary players. You need everything. You need a mix. Merrill is bringing something we have in spades...and it's still not good enough. I mean, let say you put tons of mustard in a hot-dog....like A LOT.....and even if you like mustard, you feel it's way too much....will the hot-dog be better if you ADD more mustard?
He's 23 with 10 points in 61 games career.
Merill is 10x the player he is. And Merill is just a solid 4-6 defenseman.
It trickles down. One of Chiarot-Ed should be next to Romanov.
Edmundson is +29, that is too good to be a total fluke. He's earning his money. Chiarot is not that bad either, if you don't expect a first-pairing guy out of him.I think the funniest part is this dude's probably a better player than the two guys we're spending 7M combined on to play the same role lmao
Leads the team in +/-, so he must be doing something right.Make no mistake Detroit is bad because their best players are bad. The MB defense army will hype this trade i'm 100% sure. Jordie Benn 2.0. BTW how is it working for perennial Norris Jordie Benn in Vancouver?
Danault is +20 and was useless 90% of the season.Edmundson is +29, that is too good to be a total fluke. He's earning his money. Chiarot is not that bad either, if you don't expect a first-pairing guy out of him.
If having him on the ice instead of Mete prevents 90 second stretches hemmed in our own zone, he will have helped a lot.Wait for what. Jon Merrill is 29 years old. He has almost 400 games of experience. Do you guys watch hockey outside of the Montreal Canadiens? Jon Merrill will be like all the others depth dmen MB got. He'll look guy considering the very low expectation of fans. Lot of fans will hype him to death. But at the end of the day he wont change anything when it comes to the end results of the team.
There's absolutely nothing wrong with Edmundson. He's a fine 2nd pairing guy. Chiarot is a decent second paring guy, the issue comes when they both get 1st pair minutes - especially with Weber who is starting to decline and Petry, who while amazing for us, has never proved he can be a #1 defenseman.Edmundson is +29, that is too good to be a total fluke. He's earning his money. Chiarot is not that bad either, if you don't expect a first-pairing guy out of him.
You can never have too much mustard.
Might be another trade with a dmen going the other way . I will reserve judgement till tomorrow
Yes, if you put a guy in a role above his head.Danault is +20 and was useless 90% of the season.
+/- means nothing.
If having him on the ice instead of Mete prevents 90 second stretches hemmed in our own zone, he will have helped a lot.

Merill is 10x the player he is. And Merill is just a solid 4-6 defenseman.
He has a 0.925 cap hit and we removed Mete 0.735 Cap hit, so we still have loads of cap space to make another move.
Hoffman?
True but Edmundson is never used on late game while losing by 1 , was never in OT the 9 times we lost. Was pretty much on the ice for the 9 goals on the PK.Yes, if you put a guy in a role above his head.
Danault's season last year was fine for a middle-sixer, and Edmundson is fine as a second pair guy. That is what 3.0-3.5 Mil gets you - not a top line player, and it's not fair to require it at that salary.
lol. Merrill is not a second pairing d man. He's 23 with 10 points in 61 games career.
Merill is 10x the player he is. And Merill is just a solid 4-6 defenseman.
"not even close"Merrill is not a 4 on a winning team not even close. If he is 4 on your depth chart he is a hole other players have to cover.
?I swear the only two good trades for this board are for Ovechkin or Hedman and everything else is trash.
Just kind of seems like more of what we have?
How could he be worse? Some detroit fans think they should have got a 2nd or 3rd......they say he is pretty solid for a bottom pairing guy.
Can he be better than Kulak?
Oh, really? Funny that I wrote 4-6 then, eh? Which would make him a 3rd pairing guy, who could sub in as a #4 in a pinch. Thanks for coming out.lol. Merrill is not a second pairing d man.
