Montreal fans talk like they know about D and yet can't even spell Edmundton's name right. So how much do they really know about a player who name they can't get right. Probably heard some media source say he may return a 1st and ran with it.
Shop him else where. If he so good you should have a line up for this guy and not need 400 threads pushing him on Edmonton.
Even after Price missed a year of hockey lots of Montreal still claimed he was the NHL best goalie and wanted the Oilers to break the bank to get him. Only mention Price because Montreal fans keep bring up they were right about Chiarotten . Edmonton fans were right about Price and Edmundton as well.

Holland doesn't like to trade 1sts, and this is an especially good draft, so a lot. He'd likely move it in a package for a top pair guy, but I'm not sold that he does anything else. And I'm not talking about a "3 years ago my often injured physical defenseman played beside one of the best defensemen in the league and won a cup so why don't you want him" type of player. An actual top pair guy.
If there's nothing you want from the habs for your first then we have to move on. Weber was playing on a broken ankle and with Chiarot, who was forced to carry the puck out of the zone on every play. Edmundson played with Petry.

Auto correct. I accepted the wrong spelling once at work and now it keeps inserting it. I updated my OS and it seem to have got rid of it as I just wrote it in another thread and it wasn't changed on me.It's Edmundson. Maybe you should learn to spell it right before you jump on others.

Montreal reporter yesterday said Oilers no longer interested in Edmunston. I figured Montreal wouldn't trade him unless blown away. They have 4 rookies on Blueline and Eddy is good veteran. Montreal will likely trade him next year deadline. Savard at '24 trade deadline.
Montreal may play role in renting caproom this deadline though. As they have around 2.7m and likely to move a couple of vets at deadline creating more room.

Oilers pick is going to be what? 17-25 range? I think the deep draft narratives are flawed and we have seen that over and over again. How is it a deep draft when 2/3 of the draft year is not completed yet? Age 15 and 16 years means more than age 17 draft year? I think not.
It's a deep top 10 or top 15. After that, it's very subjective.
In terms of what the Oilers will do with their futures and what they are after? We can only guess but it does seem to be a good time to move all in for the Oilers. Problem is cap space though right? Challenging

The Oilers are in a wild card spot right now. If things go badly, like a couple of key injuries, the pick could still be very high. There is a ton of talk about how deep this draft is. It isn't only fans saying these things. So I think we can take it as legitimate.
And yes. People who know what to look for can judge a 15 or 16 year old and compare them to what others did at that age. That's pretty basic actually.

The irony is that if Edmonton doesn't go get some help, then odds of missing the playoffs increase, and another season of the McDrai window is wasted. (this is regardless where EDM gets help. I think there's a deal with MTL, but if not, they should find something that works elsewhere).

If you bid for a player and lose then the pressure goes up for YOU to do something, ANYTHING.
If you are a playoff team, you want to help your team. If you are not a playoff team then its sell time at the BEST offer not the worst offer. Example, the AVS paid the habs asking price for Leky and can anybody think of a better win win trade.

1- It's Edmundson. It's hilarious that someone who is complaining about the spelling of a player can't get it right himself.
2- If Price plays, he's better than Jake Campbell. If Price doesn't play, his cap hit can be LTIR'd and it's still better than Jake Campbell

The 30th pick in draft pretty low gamble for heavy playoff defenseman like Eddy. A pick that has like 30% chance of being average NHLer.

If Habs retain half you might get a 1st round pick. I'm guessing Edmundson stays a Hab until next year given the rumored asking price. It's a heavy price tag for a bottom pair defenseman.
The difference is that even on an awful Montreal team, Lehkonen looked good last year. He wasn't just coasting on reputation.

If we retain 50 % just be happy if we can get a late 1st rd pick for him. Anything more would be pure gravy.
