B2B 14 pt seasons, even his ‘great’ playoff run is a myth, great series against the Leafs and one good game vs the Jets, then he had 1 assist in their final 11 GP, ended up tied with the so-called Bustoniemi for pts. He has zero vision, almost like a racehorse with blinders on, plays just die on his stick

But he’s a puck possession beast, keeps it away from the opposition, his linemates and the back of the net.

Identify useless players and give them huge contracts with long term.

...yup...and yet when it came to the Radulov's & Subban's, you know, the guys that actually made a difference, he was Hardball McMuscles...a decade lost...ffs...I'm old, I don't have many more left to see the Habs lifting Lord Stanley again...

Armia could have a better season IF he plays on the 3rd line. But there is many better rw ahead of him. So he is going to play on the 4th.... Or elsewhere.

Yes, he and others like Drouin, Hoffman, Byron, Gallagher, Dvorak should have better seasons. Too many Habs fans counting them out.

The thing I noticed with Armia is he does better with better usage but not so much on the 4th line. Seems to be uninspired when demoted to 15 min or less.

It will be interesting to see how MSL manages ice time for both the vets and the youth. Plus I do think there is going to be a trade to create more cap flexibility and Armia might be the one traded. Could be any one of Armia, Dadonov, Hoffman, Drouin, Byron. I think Dvorak stays. Center depth is thin with him out. If Dvorak is traded, I would expect a younger center to come back in that return.
The habs have a lot of players who can do really well as long as someone else is carrying the puck and keeping the opposing defense busy. Armia, like Drouin, Hoffman, and many other habs will look good if we have centers who can make space and defense who can carry the puck.

The easy part of the team is built and, unfortunately, takes up the whole cap. The habs need the hard to acquire players and have no money to sign them. By the time they get those players the supporting cast will have been replaced.

He only gives big contracts to players he likes as friends. He’s probably the dumbest most arrogant condescending GM to ever live. Pissed in our ear for 10 years while telling us it was raining.

This guy has so much potential as we all saw during our last playoff runs and at the worlds this year.
I’m wondering what everyone’s thoughts are on whether MSL and co can help him become the dangerous power forward he shows flashes of
Armia reminds some people of Slafkovsky. Sky is the limit.

He can certainly rebound. That was a bad season even by armia standards.

Alot will have to do with how msl sees him fit in the lineup though.

If only armia knew what makes him going.. what a waste of talent Joel is.. if he would put it all together he would literally be a superstar in this league.. the sever lack of confidence in himself.. at this point in his career I think its safe to say he will never break out. I understand why He was let go from the jets. I had hope he could find his game.. Ive given up enterily.

McMuscles did have a $oft $pot for broken, undersized grinding players who could make him cry.

I saw Armia play some of his best hockey when he was with Staal and Perry, it was the first time in what seemed forever that we had a BIG line that could just work the boards and cycle it. A line of Slaf-Dach-Armia could be an interesting match up together, but I do think him and Slaf might have chemistry.

He played decent with them for about 5 games in the playoffs otherwise was useless

Somehow those 5 GP was enough for Bozo to give him a 4 year deal $2.5MM more AAV than he was worth

...how many more years does he get to actually prove himself over more than a handful of games??...:dunno:
These last 2 seasons have been straight out of the twilight zone. From a covid lockdown season to arguably the worst season in franchise history. Put him with MSL and together with a long offseason for him, I can believe he'll bounce back inconstancies and all.

Bounce back to what? 80% of the NHL games he’s played in his career he’s been terrible. He used to string together a few games here and there where all the moons of Jupiter aligned and he looked great but it’s never been more than 10-20 games a season and he can’t even do that anymore.

Armia is a waste of talent. He only seems motivated when he's wearing the Finnish logo on his jersey.

Make you a wager he'll put up 20 goals or 40 pts next season. $50?

How about if he puts up 20 goals or 40 pts next season I’ll change my Avatar to the below pic for all of next offseason, if he doesn’t hit those milestones you have to change yours to it? Hell I’ll change mine soon as he reaches one of them

And he has to actually reach at least one of them, not ‘pace’ for them

Alright, but at least has to play 70 games. Does that work?
