Same injury as Lilly

If the leafs don’t get it together at 5v5 we’re about to really fall off. No goalie to carry us anymore…

Not only will the Leafs no longer be carried by a high end goalie, they're likely going to have to find a way to carry poor goaltending. Not sure they have it in them

hopefully !

that f***ing injury seems to take forever to heal and it always seems to linger the whole season
He’ll be back and hitting his stride for the stretch run. We can only hope Sammy and Marty can run with this. Assuming Sammy will get a chance to be the starter until he’s not. Fortuitous that Jones wasn’t snapped up in waiters waivers

It’s good news that it’s not a structural. High ankle sprains take easily over a month to heal and it’s painful when it happens. No wonder he couldn’t put weight on it.

More adversity for the leafs to overcome.

I'm honestly glad. I guessed it looked like an ankle sprain and relieved it is. Much better than any of the other injury prediction.

Team hopefully steps up

I mean I am not saying it is the worst news lol but he is probably still looking at a solid 6 week+ recovery time. That is firmly not in best case scenario in my books.

Best case scenerio than anyone not getting hurt. But considering ACL, MCL, concussions are part of any hockey player, this is good news

The team will, for now, be running a goaltending tandem that's playing for those next contracts. Hope that serves as some nice motivation. All the best to Woll in his recovery and eventual return.

Considering the way it looked and his inability to put any weight on his leg, that is likely the best possible outcome all things considered. I think we were all expecting much worse news.

If he is back no later than just into the New Year, that's a positive.

This situation will hopefully ignite Samsonov to step up and get back to his previous form, and Jones seems like a capable backup in the interim.

I had guessed it was a hip injury, which could be chronic and career-limiting.

A high ankle sprain is good news because there should eventually be a full and complete recovery, even if that takes a long time.

Not good for this season, but good news long-term for this young man's career.
