"that chick from Ohio"
For the record, the EliteProspects Draft Guide and the Black Book had him at #10 and #12 respectively. So per those publications, at least, we got a falling gem.
That's who I was hoping would fall to the Preds as well, but I didn't think it likely.really wanted mateychuk, but im so much more stoked for Kemell

go post on the cbj forum and let us enjoy our pick
Our lead Euro scout defending his boy. He was pumped for this pick.
This is just false lmaokemell is easily the highest upside guy we have ever had
I don't think so. Kemell plays with more intensity and is a lot better skater than Tolvanen from what I've seen. Great pick for you guys.I just hope this isn't Tolvanen 2.0. Doesn't seem like that (he was rated higher). Pretty exciting to get a player ranked so high so low.

I was just sitting here thinking this reminds me of how we were all ecstatic when Tolvanen fell to us at 31. I'm not as pessimistic about Eeli as some.Feels a bit like the Fiala pick. Obviously not quite the same stylistically on the ice. But still players who have some big talent and if we're patient(er) can hope for a big return if we are able to work within the parameters of what he brings as a player and not get too frustrated at the things he doesn't bring.
It can also be a shot across the bow for Tolvanen. I don't suppose too many of us are all that optimistic about Tolvanen being a one-day top-6 forward for us anymore, but I don't feel like we'd optimally have both him and Kemell there. Well, you'd make room if they were both THAT good. But they probably can't both get there at the same time.
Big difference in dropping 5-6 spots and dang near dropping out of the first round. If I remember Tolvanen dropped a pretty long way.I was just sitting here thinking this reminds me of how we were all ecstatic when Tolvanen fell to us at 31. I'm not as pessimistic about Eeli as some.
People who haven't seen Tolvanen lately might be surprised at his intensity and physicality. He has definitely turned a major corner on that side of things. And if Kemell can skate just as well as Tolvanen, he'll be fine in the NHL.I don't think so. Kemell plays with more intensity and is a lot better skater than Tolvanen from what I've seen. Well early in the season he was shooting like mad and then just stopped. Gotta wonder if his confidence isn't shot.People who haven't seen Tolvanen lately might be surprised at his intensity and physicality. He has definitely turned a major corner on that side of things. The craziest thing about Tolvanen these days is... where did the sniping go??? Somehow in the transition to physical two-way winger he forgot how to shoot...
