TBH, I don't even know how you coach someone to "be more assertive". If someone is frequently out of position or not shooting the puck right or something, sure coaching can help, but at this point, I think the best route is to just send the guy down and hope he finds his game at some point.

We need someone who is a threat to shoot on the PP. We've been forced to go for the pretty plays recently to open up the PK.

If Zajac or Stafford play over Zacha tonight after that embarssing loss last night, which Zajac was a HUGE part of and Stafford did nothing to help the team try and come back from, then Hynes is officially a problem and stunting this kids development, and him and Geoff Ward and Nasreddine need to be gone at the end of the season.

Yeah it's great to see actual breakdowns on the broadcast. Sal trips over his words constantly but I can easily live with it since he actually talks x's and o's. Dano will speak about it but he tends to be too nice on the players to actually say what I think he wants to say.

Devils tv crew were one of the few not to make those kind of analysis. It's not really Dano's thing so it's good Sal has taken that path. The best I've seen is Blue Jackets break down plays, while Sal is showing fairly obvious things they can go crazy complex sometimes.

I think Dano just has trouble figuring out how to say what he wants to say period... Far to often when its his turn to speak, he get in the car long before he knows where he's going. He will start with a great point, seemingly, then go in circles before stopping and saying something cliche like "just great hockey."
