Does any think we could use Hayes in a trade for a backup goalie not being used much by another team? Maybe a Mike Condon or Dustin Tokarski type? At this point I would do it and then if the new backup outplays Khudobin we could then either Deal Anton for whatever or try to send him to the AHL for insurance as a 3rd goalie.

A team would probably resist doing that if only for the fact that they'd most likely be taking a bigger cap hit after the exchange. I mean, is Jimmy Hayes worth that for any team?

I'd honestly rather hope Hayes gets picked up in the expansion draft/bought out and a third of his salary put on the books, than trade him and half to retain half.

Good points, but some team may look at Hayes as still having potential big guy who does have descent hands at times, did score 19 goals not long ago, so a team looking for a forward and having an extra goalie may make the deal.

At this point I think the word is out that Hayes is a 6'5" dude who plays like he's 5'7".

Also, he doesn't have hands. The guy either shoots it wide or puts it into the goalie's chest.

Look...fooling NHL GM's isn't a real thing, unless you have a guy like Patrick Roy at the helm and that's no longer the case so...

Can't believe someone said Kessel.

Wideman was the worst I had ever seen. I mean, at the end he was getting boo'd by the home fans nearly every time he touched the puck. That's like...really bad.

And then he led the team in playoff scoring.

Hayes game isn't in a good place right now. But he could go to Providence dedicate himself come back up in a month and be a lot better.

Just pull the plug please.

This ain't the NFL. If only it that were that easy to rid themselves of Jimmy Hayes.

Remember Jimmy is a Bruin because we wanted to dump a contract of a player who couldn't play anymore and get cap space. If we just dealt with the Savard situation for a couple more years Hayes would never have been a Bruin and Reilly Smith likely gets dealt for a better return maybe even a good D man or a 1st rounder.

I don't think trading is an option unless you want to take back Datsyuk's dead money or something to that effect. That is what he was acquired for again. And I don't want to buy him out so he effects the cap for any longer.

I just deal with having 2.3 mil less cap space per year because of a guy on the Providence Bruins this year and next. No other option.

If Hayes can go down to Providence and start scoring I'm happy to bring him back up. Maybe even give him a shot on a higher line if hes hot and scoring goals down there.

Trying to move him is a bad idea again last time we did something like that we ended up with Hayes and turned around and gave him a generous contract.:shakehead

If we can't trade him not even for some team's 3rd string goalie, then just put him on waivers and maybe we get lucky and someone claims him.

Hayes doesn't have a big enough contract IMO to justify taking back more bad money or adding valuable assets just to convince a team to take him.

Best case, send him to the minors, 915k comes off the cap, the other approx. 1.4 million remains. He's still there if you need him for expansion requirements. But there are 23 better players who should be on this roster when healthy over Jimmy Hayes.

Jamie Collins is no longer a Patriot.
Jimmy Hayes.....still a Bruin.

There are some things in life that nobody can see coming.

Whoop practice today has Hayes right side 3rd line. Haven't seen that move before. That should help him and the bruins score some goals.

Well they only have 12 healthy/non-suspended forwards.

The 4th line had their only goal last game.

Not like Julien has a whole lot of options right now. I guess he could swap Hayes and Czarnik on the Krejci line, but then let's see this board collapse when they read Hayes is on the 2nd line.
