The flood gates are open, let's hope even by his standards. Hope he feels heat from FVat coming back. Would be nice having 15 goals from Jimmy and 20 from Vatrano to the end of the year.

Jimmy was the hero today though, good on him. I'm sure he is a great guy n all...just ready to see him be a great guy on some other team..really any other team.

Well the good news is that his value went from a roll of tape to a bag of potatoes.
Keep it up Jimmah.

Knew he would score during a matinee game!! Of course, lets be honest, the puck went off his stick. Looks like he is back in the line up. Claude's comments were priceless. "at times last year!!" Yikes, still don't think the guy should be here but I think we all realize hes not being sent down to PVD anytime soon. Frank V scores again tonight for the PBruins-empty netter but it still is great news for the Sniper from Springfield!!

He got the puck back to Miller and then set a screen. No need to try and take something away from him when he actually does something right. The tip was clearly intentional as he moves his stick in the path of the puck.

Tootoo has played 25 games with Chicago and has 0 points.

Many would say they are one of the model franchises in the NHL, and they are also using a guy that has put up nothing on the scoreboard.

Just saying.

Just saying.

And you could argue there is room for one of this type of player on a roster. Call it the evolution of the enforcer role, even though that guy doesn't have to fight, he can skate and hit.

Acciari would likely be the closest comparison to Tootoo. Good skater and quality hitter.

Boston's problem isn't that they dress one non-scoring forward each game.

It's that they dress 3 or 4 of them every night.

Jimmy Hayes scored the goal for the Bruins in yesterday’s 1-0 win against the Los Angeles Kings and, with the way his season has gone, that still counts as major news.

But with his all-around play, Hayes’ game yesterday was his easily best of the season. In just 7:18 of ice time, he gave the Kings trouble on the forecheck, he won his share of board battles and set up Colin Miller for a prime scoring chance.

“He was better tonight. I liked his game a lot better,†coach Claude Julien said. “He resembled probably the older Hayes that we had at times last year than the one we’ve seen this year. You’re hoping some guys have kind of turned a corner and are starting to find their games here a little bit.â€

I probably pick on Jimmy less than most here but have to chime in with an overall Hayes family poke.

In the Rangers-Flyers game, Claude Giroux just face-washed Kevin Hayes multiple times after the whistle and Kevin took it. Ridiculous abuse. Looked like Sedin taking the Marchand face wash in '11.

Seriously...what the **** is with this organization? Are they completely delusional? What exactly is going on?

All summer we heard rumblings and EXPLICITLY SPOKEN WORDS from Hayes about how he was going to work hard, contribute more, and BE BETTER this year. Instead, he got worse, but when he has a "decent" game, the utterance from the coach is "he looked like old Jimmy Hayes".

Did Jimmy drop so far that he actually has people (dear God, the head ****ing coach!!!!) implying that he was an acceptable player last year?

I don't even know what to say about this organization. They are seemingly in denial about every single facet of the team.

Maybe he meant "old" like he's playing like a 40 yr. old.

With Backes' return to the lineup and Vatrano now on the roster, I hope to see lots of Hayes in a suit and tie (if he's still on the team).

With the exception of a contributing journeyman like Moore, this team has no business putting players on the ice who are not going to be a part of the future of the team AND are not producing. It is a complete waste of potential development to be playing several of the players on this roster who are clearly not very good and who are clearly playing subpar hockey. Hayes does not need to see any more time on the ice for the Bs. He has had more than enough opportunity to show something and he has failed. This should not be about trying to get Jimmy to find his game. He has no game, and it's beyond obvious. The team and its direction moving forward is the most important thing.
