I really want a win against Vegas now. I’m starting to get very annoyed by that team’s relentless success this season!

Lets beat them. With a score of 5-2.

Vegas....Their success is surprising, and intriguing. I'm not annoyed by this - its been analyzed every which way and hung to dry, but I want the Jets to atone for their earlier loss to this team in Vegas.

One more thing , whatever it takes to resign Morrissey you go ahead and do it Chevy , he is so good at playing defense , it's a absolute must to resign him for the max term . Can you imagine if he played for Toronto , the amount of press he would get .

I agree Buff was good. I don't care about penalties when they are not stupid (second one was semi bad). It's not easy to play against tiny men sometimes.

Lowry line was perfect. First line was on fire, Roslo fumbled the puck a bit at times, but overall they look real good at home. Second line was absolutely solid. Ehlers should have had a goal for sure as well, he has been really unlucky recently. 4th line was real good too. Yes sir more of that!

Hutch was good enough. He's not as good as Helle, but he's not as bad as last year indicated by no means. He was mostly calm in net. And what's best is that the team gave him some room to work with. Early in the season there would have not been any room for mistakes.

where is he going to plau though? if its 4th line its a watse for him development wise only way i see it is if hendricks is press box.

Laine shief wheeler
perrault lits ehlers
connor roslovic armia
copp lowry tanev

but i dont see this happening with roslovic being a center this year or they wlda tried him by now before shief came back.. ?

That's an insane lineup lol. I would imagine that Maurice would want the Lowry line to continue their current role, but just think how Connor, Roslovic, Armia would be as a fourth line. They would be the highest scoring fourth line in the league by a mile.... and only because we have so much depth up front that there's no room for them in the top six!

That should be no surprise, really. Tanev is the best forechecker with Perreault on this team. He may not have the softest hands or highest hockey IQ, but he brings an element to the Jets checking line that is really a crucial part of hockey, and he brings it every single game.

I'll use your post as a jumping off point PS....

I agree that Tanev is a very important part of this team, so is Lowry, so is Hendricks etc. It's a team sport and this team seems to be built to be very complimentary of each other. Every single player on this team is bringing something valuable. Not everyone is a tasmanian devil or a speedy gonzales, and not everyone is a world class scoring machine or a member of Hockey Mensa, but they all contribute in their own way and they are all equally valuable.

I have a newfound respect for Maurice, Chevy and all of the players who I doubted over the past little while. This team has so many pieces integrated beautifully, that are also somewhat interchangeable (Connor/Roslovic 1st or 4th line???? MP playing everywhere????) .

All of this without our best forward and a top pairing D, and Kulikov.

They won't win every game, but it's a joy to watch win or lose.

After all my praise, there are two things that I think the Jets could do to improve.

One, retrieve the puck quicker in our own end. Sometimes it seems a little nonchalant, and the forecheckers get there at the same time when there is no reason for them to.

Two, as soon as Ehlers takes off for one of his patented end to end rushes, someone has to get in front of the net, because there is always an opportunity for him to pop that puck right out front of the net as he goes around. That should be a set play.

It's nice to just be nit picking :)

Don't send anyone down, waive Hendricks or Matthias.
Put Scheif with KC and Tanev when he gets back for a few games or sit Hendricks and dress 7 D men...then give Scheif, Little and Lowry extra time between KC and Tanev.

Hutch was shaky in the first (which is expected being his first game in 10 months), but after that the team went on lockdown and he didn't face anything really dangerous

Tanev and Perreault play the F1 role as well as anyone I've seen, they are so effective at creating separation. Tanev has come a long way with it this year, much higher IQ to his game than the kamikaze style of last season.

The whole thread is worth a read, but £'ll post it for those without ze twitter.

So, Lowry's starting to get recognized by the stats guys. We've been talking about him for some time. He's been badly maligned by a lot of posters here in the past, despite good performance last year and in his rookie season.

One other thing about the Jets last night , Buff was very good . We need Buff If we are going to do anything this year , loved when Ferraro was talking about Buff with Buff right beside him , good humor . It would be nice if TSN gave us Ferraro for the rest of the season .
As the best team in Canada, we should really have the best colour commentator.

It is all the small things he does. Love early on he was physical on Stamkos and Kucherov. I don't think we heard from Stamkos all night after that. Kucherov maybe had 1 quality chance? The strong stick battle wins were something too watch, I am glad Ferraro pointed things like that out.

I thought Copp was equally as good. Armia wasn't as good as those two but I thought he got better with them as the game went along. He is such a dog on the puck.

As the best team in Canada, we should really have the best colour commentator.

They announced before the season that Ferraro would occasionally be part of the TSN broadcasts. His primary duty will still be Leafs games when they're on TSN.

Buff had two penalties, but if you take those out, I thought he was pretty effective. Looked dangerous with the puck on his stick, and made some nice things happen out there.

Four minutes left in 2nd period when he made first good pass to some one else than Enstrom. He was again like always awful on power play. Jets number one unit only got puck moving when they did not give puck to him.

He sure looks dangerous all the time, but Jets survived
