We're finally starting to see some separation in the standings. There's only three points separating first and third place in Central, but there's 8 points between first in the division and out of the playoff picture. The important thing is that the Jets haven't overextended themselves with games played relative to the rest of the division. Here's hoping the Predators have a crappy second half.

I never had any doubts that Hutch would pull out a win for us. If you find any posts to the contrary,... well, I have long suspected that my account has been hacked by my evil twin Skippy.

Preds have a difficult final 1/3 of the season, if they miss a beat we’ll be there to pull the plug!

Just solid team effort. Hutch was very good considering it is his first game in NHL after long break. Good start to a 10 games home stand, just keep it up boyz

I have to say, I listen to the post game interviews and everyone has a level head, very determined to manage the year one game at a time...impressive.

Right on, Duke! I'll be cheering at the game tonight until my hands hurt and my throat is raw. The weather is beautiful for Winnipeg... in January. Hutch will be clutch for old time's sake. Poolboy will easily fill the hole left by Troubs. I'm all-in on the game... $30,324 pretend simoleons, baby! GJG!!! :thumbu:
Well, my hands are burning and I can hardly talk. And oh yeah, I'm rollin' in those chocolate coins, baby!!! :)

Great game by all of our boys tonight. Seriously, there were no stinkers out there. We looked a little apprehensive in the first then we took over the rest of the game.

Roslo is looking very good defensively. He's a keeper for sure.

Ehlers is getting faster every game, I swear.

I'm still amazed how a Big Buff hit can pump up the team and the crowd. It's almost magical.

Also amazed at how small (and fast) the majority of the Bolts' forwards are. Toby must've had a feelgood game because he was surrounded by his peers sizewise. :)

Still very proud of our boys. Bring on those Knights!

I called it, Hutch has a chip on his shoulder and would play well. Wants to show he belongs in the NHL with O'Connor, not the farm league. He wasn't tested all that much but made good saves when needed.

Just imagine what this team is going to do when fully healthy.

Well that was a fun game to be at. Great atmosphere and the team put in a excellent performance. Statement game imo.

I might be in the minority but I thought Hutch was very fortunate tonight. He was down early often and had Tampa been a bit sharper he would have gotten exposed up high. To his credit he saved everything he needed that was along the ice and settled in the third but I still wasn't that impressed with his effort but glad he got the win.

Myers and Morrissey: They got their wires crossed a bit early which is to be expected since they have barely played together but settled in the second and where great from that point forward.

Buff and Toby: If it weren't for the dumb penalties they had a nice game. I liked seeing engaged Buff.

Chariot and Poolman: Poolman was solid and Chariot was back to his signature icing move.

Laine was good all around. Wheeler was working hard all night and made a nice pass of Laine's goal. Roslovic was hustling all night, but still needs to learn how to manage the puck in his own end (He's young so he'll get it)

Copp - Lowry - Armia: They did and excellent job blanketing Stamkos and co.

EPL: It took them a while to get into the game but really came on in the second half.

CHT: Connor wasn't noticeable early but came on after his goal. The other two worked hard.

He was tested with 3 posts and badly out of position on his Kunitz save, but aside from that he did play well and I don’t mean that sarcastically

Anyone have the Jets at 30 Wins before their 14th regulation loss? If you say yes you’re a liar.

Well, I was expecting them to be 82-0-0 by the end of the season. So you can call me a liar if you want to.

I'm so disappointed. I guess there's always next year... :sarcasm:

I think that's something the team has improved on as a whole; don't get too high, don't get too low. They are learning (have learned) how to be a confident team. Win a few in a row, who cares. don't take the next game off. Lose a few, who cares. Get back to winning.

They don't have the swoons they had in previous seasons. Keeping an even keel and plow through the season.

Fantastic game by Wheels, he was everywhere. Excellent games by Buff, JoMo and Myers... Boy did they step up! The other 3 must have been decent too cause I didn't notice them much.

MikeMikeMikeMikeMike was steady. Didn't have to be great.

I think this team feeds off Brandon Tanev's energy.

Nice goal by Pate but he's been pretty one-dimensional this year.

I know the Pk's rollin but we still take too many penalties.

The team just keep's on truckin man.

A very good game from the whole Jets team! Well Buff had to take again two bad penalties, but I thought that even he was relatively good tonight otherwise. Really loved the effort with still good discipline that the Jets had.

I thought that Wheeler’s and Lowry’s lines were the best lines. Unbelievable Corsi for Wheeler’s line (I think Laine had even around 90, and was clearly the best in the team), and Lowry’s line had also an amazing Corsi when thinking that they played most of the game against Stamkos’s line. These two lines were really quite a key for keeping the Bolts pretty low on scoring chances.

Little’s line started very shaky in the first period, but thank God at the halfway of the game they started playing clearly better at both ends. They were very important in scoring after all the 3-1 goal.

Defence and Hutchinson were also pretty darn good, although Hutchinson did look a bit shaky occasionally. But who cares how you really look on the ice, when you get the job well done?

I have to still say that Laine just seems criminally underrated amongst many Jets fans. I saw some remarking several times in the GDT how he was constantly horrible with zone exits, but nothing about how many great zone exits he after all made. Sure I counted that he made two slight mistakes with his zone exits, but those didn’t really lead into much of danger, and anyway they were that kind of very hard pressure situations that most of the players get into trouble with. But in general he made several very nice and smart zone exits and all in all his defensive play was excellent tonight. Whom claims otherwise must seriously dislike Laine and is completely biased against him.

As a 19 year old team’s clearly youngest player he achieved 1 goal, 6 shots , +1 (for those who still value +/-) and team best Corsi of about 90 (for those who value Corsi), in a game against the top team in the whole league. I mean, sure the Jets were absolutely great as a team tonight, but Laine was also one of the absolutely greatest players on the ice. Maybe would be good to recognise his play too. What I see here is only praise for other players, but when Laine plays by all means a great game (OK, not the flashiest but a darn efficient one at both ends), the only things I see mentioned here is how horrible he is with his zone exits (absolutely not true tonight, only a blind or completely biased person can claim that).

But thanks for the whole Jets team! It was an excellent team effort and excellent hockey, especially defensively! Starting to really love this team!

I needed the flames to hold their lead and to also maybe get an empty netter for a nice windfall... I blink and they folded like a cheap pre-folded piece of paper that auto folds on it's own....

That was a classic collapse, yikes.

Good defensive effort - they spent a fair amount of time in their own end but manage the pressure down low so much better than the past.
Wasn't a highlight reel night but they are learning to play excellent D without Scheif.

D pairs looked very good considering who we were playing and who we were missing - I always knew we could score but I feel more comfortable knowing we can defend.

Solid effort. Tanev was good on bottom line where he fits best. Armia Lowry Copp just excellent.

Have to say Tampa looked like a team leading a weak division that wasn't really in full battle mode.
