That Avs Play by Play announcer somehow managed to sound more disappointed on Wheeler`s goal than the NBC announcer did when Crosby scored the GWG goal back in Vancouver

Anyways, great game by all the guys out there. Didn`t look like there were any floaters out there tonight, which is a nic change of pace.

Pregame : Noel : Pavs is our #1, we will go game by game.

Postgame : Noel : Nothing about the goaltending.

What gives.. seriously?

I have no clue what he is looking at. Monty is like 10-3-1 as a jet and 2 SO. I don't know what more he has to do to get more respect out of the coaching staff.

You'd figure an NHL coach would acknowledge the excellent play of his goaltender. Saved the game late in OT.

Yes, I went there :naughty:

Monty will play till he loses, don't you worry, or at least till the road trip. If the Jets played with this much heart more often we wouldn't have to worry about goaltending.

Let's cool it with the assault jokes guys. For all you know, the guy was falsely accused by a woman he thought genuinely liked him.

Good game! Bit boring, but it was a well played road game. I still don't feel comfortable with Inigo in net, but the results right now speak for themselves, and Noel should ride him until he breaks.

So yeah, we'll probably see Pavs back in net against Buffalo.

Also, with that goal, Wheeler got his 10th goal in the month of December. 10 goals and 4 assists for 14 points in 13 games this month.

And Trouba got another helper. I didn't think the pairing of him and Toby worked very well the first time they tried it, but it seems to work pretty damn well now.

I think Noel coached a good game:
- chose to play the hot goaltender
- made decision not to have a morning skate b/c they got in so late after 9 hr flight delay
- cycled all 4 lines & kept the shifts short
- put out the right combination 4-on-4 in OT

Give the guy a break.

Pavelec must have an embarrassing picture of Noel in his possession that he doesn't want released to the public.

Scheifele on pace for 38pts this year, if you look at it linearly. If you take into account his pace over the last 15, his PPG page is 0.82. If he manages to continue at that pace (which I admit is unlikely, but I do think that something has "switched" on for him), he'd score 12g, 22a for 34pts, giving him a season total of 53pts.

Again, not saying this is predictive, but it shows you how much he's managed to amp up his game as of late.

TSM: agree - this was a well coached game, with good preparation and decisions made throughout. Credit where credit's due.

Not throwing his player under the bus . No need to dress him down by adding fuel to the fire.

I'm pretty excited about this game, we were able to neutralize a team with very talented forwards. Monty stood on his head, only goal he let in was flukey. We had great play through the neutral zone, reminded me of that great game we had against Nashville. Tracked their guys to perfection, took away options, took away passes, and closed in on them well. Our D had great gap control, something we rarely see with regularity.

A few bumps here and there, but overall a great game.

I'd also like to try out Kane - Schiefle - Wheeler on a line. Wheeler seems to be lacking a bit of chemistry at times with Ladd and Little. I just think Frolik could gel with them a bit better.

From http://www.cbsnews.com/news/domestic-violence-charges-dropped-against-colo-hockey-player/

Lynn Kimbrough, a spokeswoman for the Denver District Attorney's Office, declined to offer specifics Friday on the new information that led prosecutors to drop the case. She said it surfaced from additional interviews with witnesses.

...

According to CBS Denver, Denver District Attorney Mitch Morrisey says he couldn’t bring the case forward despite clear evidence Varlamov’s girlfriend had been beaten.

“This victim suffered injuries. This victim had evidence of injuries. There’s not doubt about that. The way and circumstances that those injuries occurred, who did what, and who caused what, that’s what changed here,†said Morrisey.
( -- emphasis mine)

Funny how that part of the story never seemed to get as much coverage as the salacious charges.

It's not a question of "comfortable" IMO, it's a question of "less uncomfortable", and Alvaro definitely has me going for that right now; he probably has the rest of his team feeling it too.

You don't need to say anything bad about pavs, But how bout saying Monty played a good game tonight, made a big save in ot and gave us a chance to win... how does that effect pavs confidence?

YOu gotta be good to be lucky, and lucky to be good. Monty's hot right now.....but he got lucky on a few tonight; some he didn't even see (and that's mostly b/c he's smaller than Pavs). I luv Monty's passion; I luv his post-game celebrations; I luv his energy; I luv the fact we re-upped Monty as our backup....but to think he's our #1 goalie is absolutely ludicrous.

Game 41 and we're 500...and far from a playoff spot. I think we should temper our excitement after a 2-1 OT win a little.
