Somewhere nice
At the beginning of the series.

I always believe Jets the better team.than Oilers. As they have the better depth and goalie.

If this is NBA i would pick the Oilers as they do have the 2 best players. But its NHL, your best players still need to be at their best but better depth puts you over the hump ( if you execute).

Still Jets in 6 (hopefully 5)

Oilers look so very soft right now. Scared to do anything in retaliation. We are having our way with McD and Drai and there is no response. Whatever happened in game one win or lose they should have stood up and said no but they didn't and guys like Pionk are allowed to beat on the best player in the game.

It is a mistake from the Coach to allow that to happen.

It's not just Pionk either, Morrissey is having his way physically with Draisital and Leon is way bigger then him. He's knocked him off the puck or on his ass numerous times this series.

It's a team that has been there done it vs. A team with next to zero playoff experience.

Honestly makes you wonder if they were just coasting the last month and knew it, which I could care less now. My goodness have they ever turned it on, Helle has been nothing less than stellar, and this “trash defence” has been damn impressive! Even Poolman doesn’t even look like the same player. My god is it nice to see

I had no idea what the Jets were doing when they signed Lewis and Thompson, oh they are here for a little vet leadership from the pb is what I thought, playoffs is what they got them for they do their jobs and are dependable, please pass the Ketchup birds a little bland
They know how to play, even if they have lost a step.

Had the Jets lost both these games I would of been happy & proud of their effort & defensive play........the fact they’ve won both games on the road blows my mind.

Credit is owed to PMO, Helle, our D core and our forwards who have focused on D and not offence. I love this defensive physical hockey. Give me a 1-0 win over a 5-4 win any day of the week.

Quick thoughts...

81-55-26 Another really good game by Scheifele's line. Connor was really dangerous and fast. Scheifele was really strong all over the ice. I really like his puck support in his zone. Wheeler has found his top gear.

9-25-13 Another really strong game for Copp. Great in all aspects. Stastny was solid. Dubois started slowly, but got stronger late in the game. The Jets still need more from him.

85-17-22 Decent game. Appleton was strong. Perreault was a bit better than game 1. Lowry really good.

21-11-23 Another reliable game. They ended up with a lot of D zone shifts vs the McDavid line, and were swamped at times, but they play a smart game, and use their size and speed well.

44-2 Morrissey was really dialled in again. He's playing really smart and fast. DeMelo was better than game 1. Really good with the puck.

24-4 Surprisingly good game from Forbort. Still a bit rough with the puck, but generally good positioning and a good stick.

64-3 Still shocked that Stanley is playing solid in the playoffs. Another strong game. Very smart puck movement. Uses his reach well. Poolman was fine. Uses his size well.

Hellebuyck - rock solid, with a dash of brilliance.

Somehow, Maurice and the coaches got the Jets really focused and executing a good game plan in the first two games. Really disciplined.

Zone D and moving demelo to the top pairing - that’s the difference in our game

PMo mentioning that they are giving up offense to make sure they are on the right side of McD and Drai. Have to agree the defensive effort by committee has been miles better than the regular season. There was only a handful of Oilers shifts that hemmed us in. We generally collapsed well and exited the zone efficiently. Kept waiting for that major Jets defensive error to lead to a goal. Nothing super major and Helle was up to the task on those.

I think the last month was an experiment in preparation for the playoffs. Trying different things.

According to Cassie guys like Nurse are showing leadership by not retaliating. All fine and good but when you’re getting mowed over, somebody has to respond. That’s why I loved Stan’s hit on RNH. Bit of a dangerous time for it but the opportunity was there and they aren’t passing it up. Keep it up I say.

Yes there was a hit early in the 1st on Drai and he didn't respond to well to it. Nothing from the Oilers though. Tippett isn't a "fan" of eye for an eye hockey but I gotta say if I was on that team I would hate seeing that happen to those 2 guys. It was icing on the cake when Stanley crushed him later on too.

If you are going to employ a Kassian on your team sometimes you have to set him lose. The Oilers look so neutered and in effective on the boards on in front of our net right now.

That game could have been 3 or 4 nothing for us after the 1st. Smith held the Oilers in and they couldn't repay him. Now the eye is on him for that "weak" goal and he is notorious for folding.

Got to stick a dagger in them on Sunday
