I lol'd when I saw the replay of Lowrys first goal.

Only because Lowry (of all people) channelled his inner McDavid with the fake "im gonna pass it, no im not" move right before sniping it top cheese.

On to the Playoffs.
On his second I was hoping Copp was yelling "FFS shoot, I got the rebound". I had visions of those two not getting a shot on goal if they over thunk it.

Well that was better. I want 14 and 64 together just for fun.

Seriously though I'd let that etc slide for 14. No point now wasting it.

What if we - now just hear me out - what if we had both Heinola AND Stanley in the lineup at the same time?

This would be amazing just don’t see it. Has Edmonton been resting mcd and Drai? Has TO been resting there vets. It would be smart to do so just cynical.

McD is going for a milestone right now, he'll play every game from here on out. Matthews is in a similar boat. They aren't going to rest any of them because those players and the fans will be pissed if they do. None of our players have any reason to play every game from here on out.

We still got heavily outshot. That does not bode well for the playoffs. Does anybody know how many games the Jets were outshot this season? I'm thinking it's at least a 2-1 ratio.

The shots were deceptive. The Jets were doing their usual which is looking for high quality rather than high quantity on the shots. Most of Calgary's shots were from sharp angles and beyond the circles. They had very few quality 5 on 5 chances. The Flames were throwing everything to the net.

yes we got out-shot and out-shot attempted, but the high-danger chances were credited 3 for CGY and 7 for WPG

cgy had 1.32 xgf on 42 shot attempts
wpg had 1.02 xgf on 25 shot attempts

Wpg had better quality per shot

can live with higher shot totals a bit if they aren't high quality, as we saw last night.

CGY was also down most of the game so they'd press for more offense which is natural.

Jets deserve a bit of credit despite the Flames seeming to be pretty listless at times. Considering the Flames had been leading the league in share of HD chances over the past 10 games and the Jets were close to dead last, it was a pretty good effort.
Combined 1 sog from 55 and 81 another disappointment though. Too much to expect CLA to over double their output going forward.
