People will point to his stats as an excuse but he was garbage. Painfully slow and that locker room needs a breath of fresh air. Mr R was throwing everyone left and right under the bus and his body language was absolutely terrible on the field

Just not worth it anymore

He was more physically gifted than Brady/Manning as a passer, but doesn't have the passion/drive to maintain that elite level and put in the work to do so like they did. If you are a team just looking to be more competitive, but not a contender, like the Raiders, I can see them bringing him in. But, don't expect him to change from what he's been the past 3-4 years. Don't expect him at all off-season workouts and the like.

The problem is I don’t think he’s good enough for great teams and doesn’t want to go to a bad team either, it’s going to be a tough offseason for him

How can he look great if he wont get the protection? He took so many rough looking sacks to end the game last season

Didn't their kicker lose them like 4 games by blowing field goals at the end of games?

I only see two games where the Jets lost because of a late missed FG.

Regardless, that changes nothing here. Not sure why you brought it up.

If the kicker doesn't misses those kicks, that's a couple more wins on the docket and it changes the narrative somewhat.

The narrative wouldn't be any different unless they made the playoffs. That was the minimum expectation.

Even 4 more wins wouldn't have gotten them there.

For Rodgers, teams with a QB question are:
LV, CLE, PIT, TEN, NYG, and maybe NO if they move off Carr.

This is correct.

In terms of physical gifts, Aaron Rodgers was pretty much as good as it gets. In his prime he was capable of making some throws and plays that few, if any, other QB's could or can make. But when he had to rise to the occasion in do-or-die games, there are quite a few times where he couldn't quite get it done, and he's gone totally off the rails in terms of off-the-field and leadership stuff in the past few years.

He's a very difficult guy to play with at this stage and he can't move anymore. Considering how good he used to be at using his feet to find throwing lanes (Roethlisberger was also good at this; not necessarily running for gains but manipulating space with your feet in order to find room to throw) this is a death sentence.

He's one of the best of all time and easily better than Brett Favre (anyone that says otherwise didn't watch Favre enough.) But he's definitely not in Brady's tier.

No one is paying him the $37 mill he was going to make in 2025 on the Jets contract. So, how much would it take for him to even consider playing football in 2025? $25 mill? $20 mill? I doubt it's a low number. I don't imagine he'd play for $1 mill per game ($17 or $18 mill for the season). So, more likely to see him retire at this point. His ego won't allow his salary to dip that low, where he'd be like the lowest paid starter of all of the non rookie contract QBs.

I think if the Steelers don't do it nobody will sign him. Young teams don't want him around QB and for win now teams they're probably not getting a player better than like Geno anyway. Unless the same guys that traded for Deshaun will bite lol.

I think LV and Pitt are probably the only clubs that would sign him. His ego won't allow him to play for under $1 mill per game/week. So, minimum is $17/18 mill. But, even that I don't see it happening as that would make him like what, like the lowest paid non rookie contract starter in the NFL? I don't think either club wants to pay that much in guaranteed money to him. Maybe, with bonuses he can hit mid $20's. But, again, it's his ego.

Even last season, Russ got like $38 mill, most from Den. Same this season with Cousins as he is due $37 mill or something from ATL, if he were to get cut and sign for a small number.

You are talking Minschew at $15 mill guaranteed for 1 year or $25 mill for 2 years. Darnold was at $10 mill last season. But, should be like triple at least in 2025. Geno Smith is close to $30 mill for next season.

Raiders trading Adams only to get him back after signing Rodgers would be hilarious.
Raiders would have had to redo his contract, given his base was due to be $36 mill but not guaranteed. But, would have keep the cap charge lower, as they had to eat the remaining unallocated amount all in 2025 following the trade to NYJ.

I just don't see Rodgers taking a sub $20 mill contract to play. Geno is under contract for 2025 at $30.8 mil cash.

If the Steelers sign him they truly show they don’t care about winning

Just being average is enough
