I dunno man, sure I want us to win, but I am just not feeling it this year - Maybe it is this Corona format, but I am not as excited as during usual PO.

Besides, the team is in shambles - We need a minor overhaul before next season start.

Hopefully that starts with Mo going out the door and a few trades.

Eakin is not a top 6 C.
Scheifele is not playing.
So we don't have a single top 6 C in the game.
What do people expect?

Even the bottom 6 is disrupted with Copp and Rosie playing up and missing Archie.
So the F corps is in a shambles - and we still have a makeshift D corps.
What do people expect?

Losing Scheifele just underscores what we already know. We NEED a proper 2C. We won't be contenders until we get one. And - yes - the D corps still needs work too.

i'm not sure how or why anyone can complain about the results.
first, the quality of hockey being played is Training Campesque with the occasional spurt of good hockey. it's so damn boring to watch (not just this series). so, yay, the Flames will advance and lucky Jets' fans won't have to feel obligated to watch this crud for another few weeks.
second, Wpg is injury cursed. when you're down 2 of your top 6, i'm sorry, you can't win. now remove 2 bottom-6 players and you're asking for a minor miracle to win.
third, if i had to choose between watching this unwatcheable hockey or having a decent chance at the 1st overall pick, i'd choose the pick. there's so much more entertainment in the lottery than there is watching this playoff hockey.

other than the Jets' 2 goals last night, the rest of the series' goals have been pure poop. all of it. almost beer league types of goals.

those who stick it out and manage to watch the next game in its entirety: bless you

I cared more before I came home Monday and learned Scheifele was out lol. It's just not realistic to go far with that guy out. Glad hockey is back though. Watching as much as I can  I just don't think this year is the year. Jets were lucky to be in a playoff spot and now the 1C is out? Eek.

Although that said. Jets won a game without Scheifele.

i have some words at state of team an stuff. i never watch game for this team anymore but i still have word.

listen. things at winnipeg really bad. they have mounted down the team as from when laine came here. they had good players for a team being set at a cold dark prairie place where noboty probaply knowing so much of hockey but still enjoy having hockey at it with beer in mind when cheering some hockey there. therefore having stubborn perverted idead oldschooltime coach behind wheels and yes not so much of riot at winnipeg when they set team for ride along. right? they had some size and much more skill but today only wreck of memory left here. today this is not fun good team anymore. bad players future darkenes here. they let armia go and some fast skater lowliners too and more i dont remember.they buy in eakin, borque this coach like treehands and stuff. and they have perverted behavyeurs going on with laine. as he came he was total different player and set up for different careerline than where he is today. he is no longer a treat . he has forgot himself his dangerousness and magic. they team set him for doing only one stuff at ice. i was expecting them to make him playmaker and scorer more and much more icetime and develope his game by letting him try stuff more and more. they not use his skill. they not let him develope here. they have stopped his developements. i suspect this player can not be started again. he only stands at ice and this is on team. they should talk to him try more try more, do a player and stuff. more soloing. have they no developements in training at this? they hurt his confidence here at all times. he still playing with way too long sticks. on PP he only have role to wait for puck to shoot at. playmaker is set to be little overweighted? wheeler who is no playmaker. they have so role for all players here and no changes in anything. laine should have more icetimes and total free role and at practise they should have been developements for this and this should be numer one thing going on. thins with this coach is total catastrophy. i hope laine very soon getting away from this hole. but i suspect this team destroyd his career as of supersplendid careernumbers and all. he never got to grow here. they downsized at him. this team should i think be somewhere else town where this team coach was not accepted after all this "work" my opinion. thanks. ps wheelers no good. o´connor not so good players as some here think. and yeah. this team is not anywhere a talented group stucked with talant. no no no. listen here.

I knew Scheifele was a very good hockey player but it's unbelievable how much Wheeler and Connor need him to be successful and our PP .

I think the smartest thing would be to trade Connor. He is overrated and his value would be very high. Ehlers may not put up quite as much production, but his creativity and ability with zone entries make me value him higher. Chevy could get a lot for Connor including help on defense. With a proper PP quarterback defenseman that can pass to Laine, ala Carlson to Ovi, our PP would be feared. Although, that may all be for nill if our current coaching staff is still around.

Trading Wheeler would be my first option, but no way get a good return/anyone takes on that contract.

All I know is, somethings gotta give at this point. Chevy will have a hell of an off season for sure.

Let's see how next game goes.

I think we tend to forget just how much influence PM has with this team — he doesn’t just “run the bench.” KC is his player, I don’t see us trading him anytime soon, and not at all sure we should anyway. And Wheeler is, for better or worse, the face of the Jets. He stays. Laine may just make the decision for us — can’t see him signing long-term while stuck on the 2nd line with the Eakins/Copps of the world.

I think we’re a stronger team next season with Samberg on the way, maybe Heinola. Hopefully 55 is healthy. But the PP problems, the “energy line” fixation, the reliance on low-event hockey, I don’t see these changing outside of a substantial shift in team evaluation and pressure from above/player pressure or mutiny.

These Jets were on the bubble last year, with a much stronger roster. We shouldn’t be surprised that they’re underwater now.

The team has floundered for a couple of years now. Sure Injuries have played a part but they need to do something different next year. Either rebuild or go out and get the players Maurice wants to run his scheme. He is going to get another shot next year due to all the injuries so either have him integrate the youth in a retool year or get him players he trusts so that we can actually play a more aggressive game.

This team right now as we speak should have Buff, Scheifele, Little, Laine all in the lineup. I would like to see how any team in the league would be doing with all that talent gone from their lineup, i'm going to take a wild guess and say they would be shit . You can't take 25% of any team's lineup out any think everything is going to be okeydokey.

Hellybuyck shows up

So far its been only Nik ,
Hopefully they take it to game 5 so we can enjoy another game.

That would be awesome of Jets get 1st pick

Ehlers Schiefele Laine

Couple positive notes. I thought that might have been one of Adam Lowry's better games this season. Also --- confirmed-- Tucker Poolman will be a good NHL dman for a long time.
Yeah Tucker Poolman has been the best d after Morrisey and Demelo. I’ve really liked his timing when he steps up to join the offence. He’s been good so far. The other three not so much.

Some people revel when the Jets lose. Then they can run around pushing thier negative agendas.

Annnyways... here's MY negative agenda! Perreault can't be on this roster next year. He brings absolutely nothing and his mind numbingly STUPID penalty 18 seconds after we went up 1-0 is unforgiveable for a player who doesn't bring anything positive to the lineup.

Hellebuyck not in form. Not at ALL blaming him for the loss, that's square on the players shoulders, but he was average at best yesterday when we needed much more.

What did Neal Pionk do on the break, get a brain transplant? I mean, I still love the guy and I think he will bounce back but I think we are seeing the Pionk that the Rangers fans were happy to be rid of. He has to get his head out of his ass, he was directly responsible for the backwards Helle goal (though Hellebuyck really needs to stay in his damned net).

As much as we wanted to advance, it's most logical to make sure we buy our lottery ticket instead. One in 8 for Lafreniere is pretty damned good odds.

This roster needs some major retooling in the offseason. Has Chevy taken us as far as he can? I am not anti-Chevy or anti-Maurice - I believe they have both done some great things for the Jets, but I for one would love to see a mini blow up:
  • Fire Chevy
  • Fire Maurice and the rest of the coaching staff
  • Let the new GM make some actual moves and use some of our redundant talent to acquire some of what we are missing
I don't really blame either Chevy or Maurice for this season, what an impossible scenario with the exodus and injury, but it cannot be ignored that last year's team with all our players backed into the playoffs and looked average at best.

I agree with alot of what you are saying but because this was such a f***ed up season before we even got going i'm willing to let Chevy and Maurice have one more year and see what they can do. If we are crap next season then yes time to change both.

To me it depends on the direction. If we want to do a mini rebuild then I leave Chevy in charge as he has shown he can build well through the draft. Maurice can have one more rebuilding year where he integrated the kids but after I look to move on from him and bring in someone who knows how to coach a more aggressive up temple system.

Edit its also hard for me to move on from a GM who has shown really well in drafting, developing and contract signing. All things are a must for me in our market. Yeah his trading has been a bit hit and miss but to me that is the least important aspect.

Rough game. Special teams has been a disaster, no way to sugar coat it. Some really poor defensive zone play last night as well.

The team just doesn't have the horses right now. Losing Buff, Little, Scheifele and Laine is a hole that is very nearly impossible to crawl out of. D and C are big holes atm and it shows. The team will really need to tighten up on Thursday and somehow figure out a way to at least get their special teams to be a saw off with the Flames.

Helle has been great for us this year, and I don't hang it on him, but he needs to get a clear message about his terrible play with the puck behind the net. He is atrocious with the puck, and he compounds it by taking way too much time to make a decision leaving the D with very little options, and then he stands there in everyone's way. Stop the puck, quickly move it (or leave it), and get back in the net.
