The smart move is absolutely trading Wheeler to any team that will take him. Unfortunately, there’s quite literally 0% chance that happens. That’s not how the Jets organization operates for better or for worse.
I’m just sayin’ the team that traded for Laine would put him with their top center, create a pp around him and he would light up the league for a decade and become a superstar.

Wheeler excited for game four. I’ll be excited if he shows up for game four
I totally agree with this. It’s kind of obvious this team, even when healthy, just isn’t quite elite. A bonafide number one defencemen to make those quick passes to the speedy forwards is a must. But they would have to be willing to make a bold player move in order to do that. They also need to get more aggressive type players into the lineupI think the smartest thing would be to trade Connor. He is overrated and his value would be very high. Ehlers may not put up quite as much production, but his creativity and ability with zone entries make me value him higher. Chevy could get a lot for Connor including help on defense. With a proper PP quarterback defenseman that can pass to Laine, ala Carlson to Ovi, our PP would be feared. Although, that may all be for nill if our current coaching staff is still around.
Trading Wheeler would be my first option, but no way get a good return/anyone takes on that contract.
All I know is, somethings gotta give at this point. Chevy will have a hell of an off season for sure.
Let's see how next game goes.
jets will win game 4.
I want them to win game 4.
If they lose game 5 , i am ok with it as they did their best with a shorthanded team.
I would like for them to still win the series though.
Hopefully KConnor will start racking up goals next game. It takes one.

Losing with a decimated, injury ridden squad is not a disaster. I just wish that this team didn’t do it in such a soft manner. It is a contact sport, and physical dominance combined with mind games gives you an edge, and the Flames are dominating us in these areas. We might as well just WO and wait for the draft unless our MIA scorers put their big boy pants on and start playing with more of an edge. Getting scoring from Connor and Wheeler + grittier play from the whole team is key if we are to have a chance at beating that sorry excuse of a hockey club. We are down, but not out!

I agree with all of this, we can't be taking a lot of penalties if we want to win and the refs aren't helping with their questionable calls. I just think that our players looked tentative out there and out of all of our scoring talent, Ehlers is the only one who's been playing with an intensity and willingness to pay the price in getting to dirty areas and not shy away from contact. We need that from Wheeler, Connor, Roslo and the rest as well.I thought we had the edge in game 2 and they took it back in game 3. The challenge is staying out of the Box so it’s hard to walk the line of gritty and clean. Their PP killed us in games 1 and 3 so we just need to play faster again and stay out of the box. Even depleted we can hang with these guys 5v5 and that is our best and possibly only shot IMO.
If we get in a chippy battle and trade penalties they win comfortably. I am sure they would prefer that game and that is what they are trying to goad us into their style game.

Maurice has said he
- wants a fourth line he doesn't have to coach
- no longer needs to coach Connor
- has players that don't need coaching
