I’m just sayin’ the team that traded for Laine would put him with their top center, create a pp around him and he would light up the league for a decade and become a superstar.

mark my words.

Never trade a Laine.
But 50/50 he will go ufa if still same coaching staff.

Wished Jets used him like Ovies 1st 2 years with the minutes. But i kind of understand, as the team is gunning for a cup. While Caps then is not.

His 2nd year was elite production, he should have been used more at the top line in year 3.
But there are politics involve there internally.

If you have to bend me to trade a winger.
I would trade Wheeler with a pick or a young player. Hopefully some team needs a leadership guy so they take him. :)

But that wont happen.

It isn't over until the fat lady sings and I'm pretty sure Buff isn't coming back to play us a tune :D We are still very much in this! And if we lose there is Laf waiting for us  I can't get too down over this.

I think people are a bit harsh on Connor. He has been creating more than he is getting credit for without being spectacular. If anything I'd blame the coach a bit. 4 month break and he plays him 23+ min in all 3 games over 4 days. Ride the hot hands for gods sake. Wanted to see more Lowry, not the Wheeler line.

I think the smartest thing would be to trade Connor. He is overrated and his value would be very high. Ehlers may not put up quite as much production, but his creativity and ability with zone entries make me value him higher. Chevy could get a lot for Connor including help on defense. With a proper PP quarterback defenseman that can pass to Laine, ala Carlson to Ovi, our PP would be feared. Although, that may all be for nill if our current coaching staff is still around.

Trading Wheeler would be my first option, but no way get a good return/anyone takes on that contract.

All I know is, somethings gotta give at this point. Chevy will have a hell of an off season for sure.

Let's see how next game goes.

jets will win game 4.

I want them to win game 4.

If they lose game 5 , i am ok with it as they did their best with a shorthanded team.
I would like for them to still win the series though.

Hopefully KConnor will start racking up goals next game. It takes one.

I totally agree with this. It’s kind of obvious this team, even when healthy, just isn’t quite elite. A bonafide number one defencemen to make those quick passes to the speedy forwards is a must. But they would have to be willing to make a bold player move in order to do that. They also need to get more aggressive type players into the lineup

I mean, the team is being gooned by a squad with three of the dirtiest players in the NHL. One by one by one by one by... that's how they work.

Let's start by winning game four. Then showing these skidmarks that for all their flat-out thugging, they still need to win one more hockey game, i.e. ostensibly the sport they pretend to care about.

The smart move is absolutely trading Wheeler to any team that will take him. Unfortunately, there’s quite literally 0% chance that happens. That’s not how the Jets organization operates for better or for worse.

Wheeler has a NMC

Let's see how next game goes.

I don't know how he could have a worse offseason than the last one, loses all 3 of his RD. Forced to trade Trouba to the Rangers. Laine and Connor miss all of camp. Then loses his #2 centre in preseason, and eventually for the season.

Let's face it, if Scheif is playing we probably wipe out the Flames.

Offseason will be challenging. Little could be gone, Perreault should be gone. If Kulikov goes, well he's been a solid top 4 d-man. Then you are looking at losing Lowry at the end of the year, and he's been our best centre in the playoffs.

Winnipeg has never been able to sign free agents, but fans still expect Chevy to be an active player. I'd be happy if he re-signs De Melo. I've really liked his game. I'd be happy if he signs Lowry long term. Lowry's defensive game is a key identity of the Jets, and it looks better when we have our top centre leading in scoring.

That #2 centre, well I'm jumping off Eakin's bandwagon, since he hasn't been a horse at all this playoff. We'll see if Chevy can sign a #2 centre, or if he has to trade for one. Or if Copp just gets annointed as the 2c.

The bright spots are Harkins being a capable NHLer, probably only a 3rd liner, but still capable. Gus and Ves should be able to play replacement minutes at this point of their development.

Some optimism in Samberg and Heinola, which should improve our offensive transition and defensive mobility.

But Chevy hasn't replaced all the hard minutes Buff took night in night out.

I'm not at all for trading Connor, because I remember when he was producing, and he is locked up. I think Laine is more of a question mark, in his commitment to being a Jet. If you sent him to talent starved Montreal you could get a good haul of picks and prospects to retool with. Or a lateral trade of Laine, for Ehlers former teammate Timo Meier, say, would be up my alley.

Laine was totally invisible, trade his ass.

Seriously this team needs some kind of rebuild. Winnipeg style rewarding (PoMo, Wheeler, Little etc) just doesn’t work. Same old story season after season. C core is a disaster, Hillbilly Eakin as a 2nd C with career high 41 pts.

Haven't read any of this thread. I'm proud of the boys. The "un" luck our team seems to have is beyond. They are doing their best and you can see it. Anyone talking about trading or losing Copp and Lowry don't see the value they have. I think we're done but would LOVE to eat crow. I can't even comprehend bitching about our team and what they've been through this year. Again i say I'm proud of em. A lot more heart than some other teams imo

**********ANCE BY AVGARD****EXTRAEXTRA GUEST APPAEARANCE BY AVGARD****EXTRAEXTRA GUEST A*******

i have some words at state of team an stuff. i never watch game for this team anymore but i still have word.

listen. things at winnipeg really bad. they have mounted down the team as from when laine came here. they had good players for a team being set at a cold dark prairie place where noboty probaply knowing so much of hockey but still enjoy having hockey at it with beer in mind when cheering some hockey there. therefore having stubborn perverted idead oldschooltime coach behind wheels and yes not so much of riot at winnipeg when they set team for ride along. right? they had some size and much more skill but today only wreck of memory left here. today this is not fun good team anymore. bad players future darkenes here. they let armia go and some fast skater lowliners too and more i dont remember.they buy in eakin, borque this coach like treehands and stuff. and they have perverted behavyeurs going on with laine. as he came he was total different player and set up for different careerline than where he is today. he is no longer a treat . he has forgot himself his dangerousness and magic. they team set him for doing only one stuff at ice. i was expecting them to make him playmaker and scorer more and much more icetime and develope his game by letting him try stuff more and more. they not use his skill. they not let him develope here. they have stopped his developements. i suspect this player can not be started again. he only stands at ice and this is on team. they should talk to him try more try more, do a player and stuff. more soloing. have they no developements in training at this? they hurt his confidence here at all times. he still playing with way too long sticks. on PP he only have role to wait for puck to shoot at. playmaker is set to be little overweighted? wheeler who is no playmaker. they have so role for all players here and no changes in anything. laine should have more icetimes and total free role and at practise they should have been developements for this and this should be numer one thing going on. thins with this coach is total catastrophy. i hope laine very soon getting away from this hole. but i suspect this team destroyd his career as of supersplendid careernumbers and all. he never got to grow here. they downsized at him. this team should i think be somewhere else town where this team coach was not accepted after all this "work" my opinion. thanks. ps wheelers no good. o´connor not so good players as some here think. and yeah. this team is not anywhere a talented group stucked with talant. no no no. listen here.

Losing with a decimated, injury ridden squad is not a disaster. I just wish that this team didn’t do it in such a soft manner. It is a contact sport, and physical dominance combined with mind games gives you an edge, and the Flames are dominating us in these areas. We might as well just WO and wait for the draft unless our MIA scorers put their big boy pants on and start playing with more of an edge. Getting scoring from Connor and Wheeler + grittier play from the whole team is key if we are to have a chance at beating that sorry excuse of a hockey club. We are down, but not out!

I thought we had the edge in game 2 and they took it back in game 3. The challenge is staying out of the Box so it’s hard to walk the line of gritty and clean. Their PP killed us in games 1 and 3 so we just need to play faster again and stay out of the box. Even depleted we can hang with these guys 5v5 and that is our best and possibly only shot IMO.

If we get in a chippy battle and trade penalties they win comfortably. I am sure they would prefer that game and that is what they are trying to goad us into their style game.

They're getting called for shoving guys off the puck. Until these trash refs start calling some dives, the Jets are absolutely walking a knife's edge, and having a hard time.

I agree with all of this, we can't be taking a lot of penalties if we want to win and the refs aren't helping with their questionable calls. I just think that our players looked tentative out there and out of all of our scoring talent, Ehlers is the only one who's been playing with an intensity and willingness to pay the price in getting to dirty areas and not shy away from contact. We need that from Wheeler, Connor, Roslo and the rest as well.

Ehlers has looked comfortable and great. We do need Blake and Kyle to produce on the scoresheet a bit more. It’s a huge uphill battle now that we are depleted but this is doable if we just stay in the fight and play fast. I would love if we could push this to a deciding game 5.

But penalties are what this bubble playoffs are all about. The one on Morrissey had me yelling at the TV because it was going to be a 2-1 going the other way. The non calls on Tkachuk cross checking Pionk away from the play, or Bennett running over Perreault without the puck are what get me. What's a penalty? Is it about timing more than actions? I'd actually like to see the refs have a let them play kind of game, without the momentum shifts.

Sbisa has to get in on the PK. I don't care how slow he is, he battles. He'll battle hard enough to make you Radulov him in the sbisas. Boo Boo has hit well, won a few puck battles, but he almost cost us game 2. He was in no man's land on the momentum shifting opening Flames goal in game 3. Logan Shaw is another one I'd like to see on the PK, he's had reps on the year, and I think some of the best of numbers on the kill.

Maurice has said he
- wants a fourth line he doesn't have to coach
- no longer needs to coach Connor
- has players that don't need coaching

and yet he is being described as an very intelligent coach......and yet he isn't able to come up with a system to defeat a team such as the flames.
