Is Helle gonna win another Vezina? Do you guys remember Pavelec? How lucky are we?

Also, Prime broadcast is pretty damn good. Much higher picture quality than you get over cable.

Winning > losing.
Well i had forgotten about Ondrej The Sieve Pavelec until just now......Gross.

Demelo was a rock again at the back. Nice to see him get rewarded at the other end.

Stanley again half a step late all over the ice. And get out-muscled by guy half his size. When will they call game.

Coughlan worth another look. Maybe in February, Arnie?
Prime example of people simply refusing to give Stanley credit. I thought he was really solid again.

Eye test good? Use analytics. Both good, pull shit out of your ass.

Ugh, thanks. I guess. Thanks for Jets brash takes nod, they earned it!
I have decent tech here, but to handle both games and this shyte site? That’ll be tough.
I guess I’ll just watch the WJHC first as it would be the safer bet on spoilers.

Those Leaf fans love Cowan but WTF has he done? lol, not much.
Cowan seems like he’s always trying to do it on his own. Don’t find him all that impressive. And that shootout attempt against Latvia was questionable.

Shit what to do tomorrow?

Jets and Canada play at the same time. PVR WORKOUT!

Watch Team Canada live and avoid this forum like the plague. Then watch Jets in lightning mode or the other way around?

Spoilers on here are more likely than the mundane WJHC thread, of course unless one of you goes and destroys that option. :sarcasm:

What y’all doin tomorrow night?
I feel like Canada is going to get shit pumped. I'll probably just watch the Jets

Sounds like the Jets really missed tiny Heiny who looks to be closer to Niku 2.0 than a good future NHL level D man!

Hard to believe how hyped the guy was the past few years

Not really hard to believe as there was no reason not to believe in his upside + he was amazing in his first stint on the roster which was ended by an long-term injury.

It is not crazy at all to think in another scenario, in which he doesn't gets f***ed over by multiple long-term injuries at the worst possible timings, he's an established and producing offensive defenseman for this team in the top 4 right now as they'd have traded Pionk like a season ago because they don't need #44, #4 and #14.

This Heinola/Stanley bashing is so freaking annoying... It's a shame and I just don't get why people act by agendas against own players. Obviously I don't mean to target you, Sip. You're just one of a whole bunch. @Gil Fisher ran with the award for "biggest agenda"-post this time.

Sure but on the other hand, I felt like quite a number of veteran users here were like "sure they look good on paper but let's see how smart throwing out those contract to potentially 'washed up players' will look like eventually". But I don't think anybody would have predicted them to be THIS bad.

I'd be so freaking frustrated as a Preds fan right now. Future looks dim.

Absolutely

All fans tend to be bipolar when it comes to their teams, super high and super low. I always try, sometimes I’ve been guilty also, but I try to keep an even keel, not too high or low. So as you say when preds had their summer I didn’t crown them anything, don’t get me wrong I was concerned but always have to see how a team performs on the ice

Other than the female broadcaster who clearly can't make cogent observations the Prime broadcast is simply better. Better video quality, better graphics, better content and better production. They really hit it out of the park. I want to see more.

I wonder if they can just take over our SNET broadcasts which are hot trash.

For the game - man, Coghlan really impressed. It's so great to know we have an NHL quality defenseman as depth in case of injury but I don't know that he will clear another waivers run.

Stanley was good again. If he keeps playing like this, no way Heinola will be able to break in. I think it's time to deal him.

Top line was marvelous.

Yeah you really have to feel for the kid. Just shit circumstance after shit circumstance. He could really use a change of scenery on a team that will have him as an everyday player.

Can you imagine taking your developing team, and in the space of a year turning them into an old, aging out core that will need a rebuild?

Doing stupid shit like giving us Neiderrater before they went on that big run a couple of years ago was just the start.

They should be a case study for any smart GM. UFA's don't make a team. Assembling a bunch of random players does not make a team.

We see it all the time in international play where a country throws together a gold mine of talent and they just suck.

I agree - I think the writing is on the wall. It's a shame but the likelihood of him breaking through and being more of an impact maker than other options is diminishing week by week. You do need to do the right thing and cut your losses when you can.

Who would have thought in 2019, when Heinola had those great 8 games, that 5 years later he'd probably get traded for "cutting your losses" reasons and Stanley is still on the team and it would actually be the right decision.

I am jumping ahead, there's no reason to act immediately but right now, I lean towards giving him away at the deadline.

Yeah if I'm Chevy I keep rotating him in, hoping that he makes him make a tough decision, OR ups his value. That way you can keep your depth just in case.

Best case Ontario is that he just busts out and makes it impossible for Arniel to not play him, but that's highly unlikely.
Second best case is he continues to build, and ups his value at the TDL.

I know some of what probably saves Chevy is guys not wanting to play here but man are we lucky to have a GM like Chevy. Its partly why i'm not concerned about Ehlers because i really believe Chevy signs him again. But if Ehlers says he wants out i'm also very confident Chevy would get a good return on Ehlers.

Don’t think tiny Heiny brings much in return unless maybe part of a package.

Every organization has a tiny Heiny in their system, an undersized D who shows potential in the minors but can’t transition that to the NHL!

Sorry but he’s Niku 2.0 to me, just too small and not tenacious enough for the NHL.

His skating was supposed to be his strong point but to me he looks slow

Agree about the female talking head. She made some comments that had me thinking..."Has she ever watched a game?" The Prime stream grew on me over the course of the game. CLC always looks great on TV. The arena lighting is really good.
Also, agree about Coglan, solid for a guy who hasn't had much icetime with the Jets. As for Stanley, I have not been a fan but I didn't notice him last night (playing 2nd pair no less) so that's a big plus in my books. He and Pionk worjed well together.

Stan played a very good game overall, did way more good than bad. Odd that some can only take the negatives from his game regardless of the goods
